On August 13, 2020, as a part of the Atma Nirbhar Week celebration (Atmanirbharta Saptah) between August 7-14, 2020 of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and to boost Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan (self-reliant India movement), Union Defence Minister (Raksha Mantri) Rajnath Singh virtually launched 15 products of Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) viz. four products each by OFB and BEML, two by BEL and one each by HAL, BDL, MDL, GRSE and GSL.
Following is the list of launched products:
By Ordnance Factory Board (OFB)
Nag Missile Carrier (NAMICA): Developed by Ordnance Factory Medak (OFMK), Telangana in association with Defence Research & Development Laboratory (DRDL), Hyderabad(Telangana), it can act as an import substitution of around Rs. 260 Cr in the first phase, which may go upto more than Rs 3000 Cr.
14.5 mm Anti Material Rifle: It is a fully indigenous Rifle manufactured at Ordnance Factory Tiruchirappalli (OFT), Tamil Nadu
Thermal Imager Cum Day Sight for T90 Main Battle Tank: It is an ugraded version developed by Rifle Factory Ishapore (West Bengal).
Prototype of 8.6×70 mm Sniper: It is also developed by Rifle Factory Ishapore for engaging long range targets.
By Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML)
150 Ton payload capacity Dump Truck: It is one of the biggest Electric Mining Dump Trucks with expected foreign exchange savings of Rs. 1500 Crs.
Super Giant Mining Excavator of 180 Ton Capacity: With this the expected foreign exchange savings are Rs. 220 Crores.
GAUR: It is a Medium Bullet Proof Vehicle built on a high mobility chassis, with customizable protection levels and custom built with 85 % indigenization level.
Heliportable 100 HP Dozer: It has high indigenization of 94%.
By Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)
150th Do-228 aircraft: It is christened as IN-259 is dedicated platform for Indian Navy in the Maritime Reconnaissance & Intelligence Warfare role.
- HAL and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) have joined hands to establish a Skill Development Center at IISc’s Challakere campus in Karnataka to provide skill development programmes to local community members as well as high-end engineering professionals in line with the “Make in India” Mission.

1kW Transmitter Aerial Switching Rack: It is an import substitution for HF Aerial switching Unit, for providing better long-term support to Indian Navy, are genuine indigenized products.
Linear Variable Differential Transducer :It is used to attain accuracy & precision in guiding and seeking the target.

Konkurs Missile Test Equipment & Konkurs Launchers Test Equipment: They are developed to replace the earlier imported system from Russia. It will save foreign exchange of US $ 17.7 Million.
- The Konkurs Missile Test Equipment will check the serviceability of Konkurs – M Anti-Tank Guided Missiles. Konkurs Launcher Test Equipment (KLTE) will check the serviceability of Konkurs – M Missile Launchers.
Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited (GRSE)
Portable Pedestrian (Assault) Bridge: It is first of its kind made of Carbon Fibre Polymer Composite Material, to meet the requirements of the Indian Army.

Gearbox: It is developed for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV) project. It resulted in saving of Rs 37.50 Cr for 5 ship sets.
By Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL)
Underwater Remote Operated Vehicle: It commenced its Field Evaluation Trials at Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Other Participants: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Bipin Rawat, Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar, Secretary, Department of Defence Production (DDP) Raj Kumar and senior officers from DDP were present while Chairman and Managing Directors (CMDs) of DPSUs and Chairman, OFB participated in the event through video conference links.

On February 26, 2020, Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) became the 1st government entity to adopt centralised invoicing platform,TreDS (Trade Receivables electronic Discount System), under which a total of 41 OFBs adopted this platform, which would help smaller MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) vendors access working capital easily.
