     In March 2024, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi approved IndiaAI mission with budget outlay of Rs 10,371.92 crore (USD 1.25 billion) for over the next 5 years.

    The Supreme Court of India (SCI) upheld the constitutionality of Section 6A of the Citizenship Act, 1955, with a majority of 4:1 in a 5-judge bench. As per it, Section 6A does not violate Articles 6 and 7 of the Constitution, which pertain to citizenship rights established at the Constitution’s commencement in 1950.
     Instead, Section 6A addresses migrants from erstwhile East Pakistan (Present Bangladesh) who arrived after this date, specifically those who entered Assam between January 1, 1966, and March 24, 1971.
     The majority judges, which includes Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dhananjaya Yeshwant (DY) Chandrachud and Justices Surya Kant, M.M. Sundresh, and Manoj Misra, upheld Section 6A of the Citizenship Act, 1955. Justice Jamshed Burjor (JB) Pardiwala dissented in the verdict.
     Section 6A was introduced as part of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act/CAA in 1985 following the Assam Accord, which aimed to resolve tensions over illegal immigration from Bangladesh.
     It grants citizenship to individuals who entered Assam before January 1, 1966. Those who arrived between January 1, 1966, and March 24, 1971, can apply for citizenship after ten years of residence in Assam.

     The scheme aims to promote and support the industry in generating jobs in the organised textile and related sectors, covering the entire value chain of textiles excluding spinning and weaving.
     Apart from entry-level skilling, the scheme also provides upskilling/reskilling programs to enhance the productivity of existing workers in Apparel & Garmenting segments.
     It also caters to the upskilling/reskilling requirements of traditional textile sectors such as handloom, handicraft, silk and jute.
     It is a flagship skill development scheme of GoI, which was approved in continuation to the Integrated Skill Development Scheme for 12th Five Year Plan (FYP), Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs (CCEA).

     As of June 2024, PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm dominate the market, collectively accounting for 94.83% of all transactions by volume against 95.68% a year prior.
     The report highlighted that  Electronic commerce(E-commerce), gaming utilities, government services, and financial services accounted for nearly 81% of the overall transaction volume and 74% of the transaction value.
