     PM-KMY was launched on 12th September, 2019 by the Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi at Ranchi, Jharkhand.
     The scheme is being administered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) in partnership with Mumbai (Maharashtra) based Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).
     Those SMFs who are between the age of 18 to 40 years, eligible to join the scheme.
     All eligible SMFs are required to contribute an amount between Rs 55 to Rs 200 per month in the Pension Fund till they attain the age of 60.
     Under the PM-KMY, eligible SMFs receive a fixed monthly pension of Rs 3,000 after attaining the age of 60 years, provided they meet the exclusion criteria of the scheme.
     LIC is pension fund manager of the scheme and beneficiary registration is facilitated through the Common Service Center (CSC) or by the Nodal Officer (PM-Kisan) appointed by the State or Union Territory (UT) Governments. Click here to read more.

This contract marks a major step in India’s drive towards self-reliance under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
     As per the contract, these aero-engines will be manufactured at Koraput division of HAL in Koraput district, Odisha. It aimed to fulfill the requirements of IAF to sustain the operational capability of the Su-30 fleet for the defence preparedness of the country.
     HAL will supply 30 Aero-engines annually as per the contract delivery schedule. The delivery of all 240 aero-engines, expected to be completed over the period of next 8 years.
     It is a multi-role air fighter jet designed especially for the IAF by Russian manufacturer Sukhoi and assembled by HAL.
     It is equipped with two AL-31FP turbofan engines and has a maximum speed of Mach 2.

     Researchers have discovered a new species of Curcuma named ‘Curcuma ungmensis’ in Nagaland.
