It will involve a change in execution strategy, with a focus on providing optical fiber-based connections to the last mile through village-level entrepreneurs.
      i. The last-mile connectivity will be delivered by a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) namely Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL), an arm of state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), in partnership with village-level entrepreneur (VLE).
      ii. This partnership aims to ensure effective and efficient broadband connectivity reaching the grassroots level in the villages.
      iii. BharatNet is one of the biggest rural telecom projects in the world.Around 1.94 lakh villages have been connected at present, and the balance is likely to be connected over 2.5 years.
