       India’s massive growth in the ranking is due to the roll out of 5th Generation (5G) internet led by telecom operators Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel across India in October 2022.
       In the ‘fixed broadband speeds’ category of the index India attained 86th rank with the download speed of 54.17Mbps.
       With  the download speed of 254.65 Mbps Singapore tops the category followed by Hong Kong (243.59 Mbps) and Chile (240.43 Mbps).
