     With this, Japan became the first country in the world to successfully test-fire a maritime railgun from an offshore platform.

     It can shoot a 320g (or 0.7lb) 40mm steel round bullet at a speed of around 2,230 m/s (Mach 6.5).
     These railguns will be inducted into Japan’s defense system in the second half of the 2020s(after 2025) after conducting several rounds of testing.
