     She served as the Governor of TN from 1997 to 2002. During her tenure as Governor of TN, she served as the Chancellor of Madras University.
    iii. She was also awarded the Bharat Jyoti Award and the US-India Business Council (USIBC) LifeTime Achievement Award.
