PM Narendra Modi Inaugurated India’s Digital Museum on Tribal Freedom Fighters in ChhattisgarhIn November 2025, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi inaugurated Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum, India’s 1st digital tribal museum, in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, Chhattisgarh on the occasion of state’s 25th foundation day (November 01, 2025).

  • During the event, he also launched the Museum Portal and e-book ‘Aadi Shourya’ and unveiled the horse-mounted statue of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh at the Memorial Site.

About India’s 1st Digital Tribal Museum:
Named After Tribal Leader: This new digital museum is named after Indian tribal freedom fighter, Veer Narayan Singh, the landlord of Sonakhan and 1st martyr freedom fighter from Chhattisgarh, who sacrificed his life resisting British oppression.
Key Features: The museum has been built at a cost of Rs 50 crore, spans over an area of 10 acres, featuring nearly 650 sculptures across 14 galleries.

MeitY Releases India AI Governance Guidelines under IndiaAI MissionIn November 2025, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) unveiled the “India AI Governance Guidelines– Enabling Safe and Trusted AI Innovation under the IndiaAI Mission to provide a comprehensive framework for the safe, inclusive, and responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence(AI) across India’s sectors

  • The guidelines were officially unveiled by Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India (GoI) in New Delhi, Delhi.
  • The launch serves as a precursor to the India–AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled for February 19–20 in New Delhi.

About India AI Governance Guidelines:
Objective: It lays out a phased, multi-stakeholder approach that aims to balance innovation with oversight and aligns with existing legal frameworks rather than introducing new legislation.
Drafted by: The guidelines have been drafted by a high-level committee under the chairmanship of Prof. Balaraman Ravindran, Indian Institute Of Technology–Madras (IIT–Madras, Tamil Nadu, TN) comprising various other policy experts.
Winners of IndiaAI Hackathon: During the event, the winners of the IndiaAI Hackathon for Mineral Targeting, conducted under the Applications Development Pillar of the IndiaAI Mission in collaboration with the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Ministry of Mines, were also announced.

India Withdraws From Ayni Airbase in Tajikistan
India officially concluded its nearly two-decade-long presence at the Ayni Airbase in Tajikistan by late 2022, marking the end of an important chapter in its strategic outreach in Central Asia.

  • The withdrawal was formally wrapped up by October 2025, follows evolving geopolitical conditions, including the changing security environment in Afghanistan, and the need for India to restructure its overseas defence posture.

Bilateral Agreement: In 2002, the Government of India (GoI) signed a bilateral agreement with the Government of Tajikistan, to jointly operate airbase, which became India’s 1st and only overseas military installation.
Investment by India: Together, Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) invested between USD 70 million and USD 100 million, to rebuild the airfield just west of Dushanbe in Tajikistan, extending its runway to 3,200 meters (m).

EESL to Set Up India’s Largest Geothermal Energy Pilot Project in AP
In November 2025, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a public sector Joint Venture(JV) under the Ministry of Power (MoP), announced plans to establish the India’s largest Geothermal Energy Technology (GET) pilot project in Andhra Pradesh (AP), marking a significant stride toward integrating clean and energy-efficient technologies within India’s tourism sector.

  • The pilot project will be rolled out at two key tourism hubs in AP: Araku Valley and Visakhapatnam (Vizag).

17th India & Israel JWG Meeting on Defence Cooperation Held in IsraelIn November 2025, the 17th meeting of the India–Israel Joint Working Group (JWG) on Defence Cooperation was held in Tel Aviv, Israel, co-chaired by 40th Defence Secretary of India Rajesh Kumar Singh and the Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Defence (IMOD), Major General (Res) Amir Baram.

UNEP’s EGR 2025: Global GHG Emissions Reach Record 57.7 GtCO₂e in 2024In November 2025, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) released the 16th edition of a report titled ‘The Emissions Gap Report(EGR) 2025: Off Target-Continued Collective Inaction Puts Global Temperature Goal at Risk’. As per the report, the global emissions of Greenhouse Gases (GHGs) reached a record high of 57.7 Gigatonnes of Carbon Dioxide equivalent (GtCO2e) in 2024, marking an increase of 2.3% compared to 2023 emissions.

  • The report also showed that India (+0.165GtCO2e) recorded the largest year-on-year (Y-o-Y) increase in emissions, followed by China, Russia , Indonesia and the United States of America (USA).

Key Findings of EGR 2025:
Temperature Projection: The report highlighted that even if countries fully implement their updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), average global temperatures are expected to increase by 2.3°C to 2.5°C above pre-industrial levels by the end of the century.

  • This projection marks a modest increase compared to last year’s 2.6°C to 2.8°C.

Global Emitters: As per the report, China, the USA, India, the European Union (EU), Russia and Indonesia continue to be the largest global emitters, of these, the EU was the only one to decrease emissions in 2024.

  • The report further showed countries which recorded the fastest growth rate in emissions: Indonesia (4.6%); India (3.6%) and China (0.5%).

Highest Per Capita Emissions: As per the report, per capita GHG emissions in countries like: the USA, Russia, China and the EU continue to be higher than the global average of 6.4 tonnes CO2e. While, per capita GHG emissions in India and Indonesia remain below the global average.
Emissions Reduction Targets: The report recommended that in order to align with 2°C and 1.5°C targets, countries are required to reduce annual emissions by 35% and 55% by 2035, compared with 2019 levels, respectively.

Swach Survekshan 2024-25: Madurai Ranked as Dirtiest City in IndiaIn November 2025, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) released Swachh Survekshan (SS) 2025 rankings. As per the 2025 ranking, Madurai (Tamil Nadu, TN) with a score of 4,823 out of 12,500, has been ranked the dirtiest among Indian cities with a population above 10 lakhs.

  • Madurai encompasses a SS2024 score of 4,643 out of 10,000, Garbage Free City (GFC) certification score of 0 out of 1,300, and Open-Defecation Free (ODF) certification score of 1,000.

Swach Survekshan 2025:
Overview: Swachh Survekshan (SS) is the world’s largest urban cleanliness survey, evaluating cities based on waste management, sanitation infrastructure, and public participation.
Edition: SS 2024-24, established in 2016 under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban (SBM-U), marks the 9th edition, focusing on Reduce-Reuse-Recycle (3R), highlighting the national push for sustainable urban development by evaluating over 4500 cities.
Madurai: It scored full marks in parameters such as cleanliness in market areas, water bodies, and residential zones. It secured less scores in key indicators such as waste generation versus processing, securing 4%, cleanliness of public toilets (3%), door-to-door collection (37%), source segregation (26%), and remediation of dumpsites (25%).

Mission: Designated VA265, this mission represents a major milestone in Europe’s space efforts, improving autonomous access to space and bolstering Earth observation capabilities.

Former Karnataka Minister & MP Hullappa Yamanappa Meti Passed AwayOn November 4, 2025, Former Karnataka Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) Hullappa Yamanappa (H.Y) Meti passed away at the age of 79 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He was born on October 9, 1946, in Thimmapur, Bagalkot district, Karnataka.

  • After Guledgudda was dissolved, he moved to Bagalkot, winning the 2013 Assembly election as the Indian National Congress (INC) candidate and retaining the seat in 2023,

Declaration: On 22 December 2015, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted Resolution A/RES/70/203, designating 5 November each year as WTAD,  following a proposal by Japan, drawing on its expertise in tsunami management.
Purpose: To enhance understanding of tsunami risks and advance the goals of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction(SFDRR) 2015–2030.
First Observation: The first WTAD was commemorated on 5 November 2016.
Why November 5? The date commemorates Japan’s legend “Inamura-no-hi”, where village leader Goryo Hamaguchi saved his people from a tsunami on 5 November 1854 by burning rice sheaves as a warning.
Implementation: The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) leads the observance of WTAD in coordination with other UN agencies and partners.
Cairo Commemoration & Multi-Hazard Resilience Forum: On November 9 2025, the Forum to held at Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah, Cairo, Egypt, organised by the UNDRR– Regional Office for Arab States (UNDRR-ROAS), in cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Egypt and the Government of Egypt.

Kerala signs a Rs 850 crore FDI deal for Meridian Tech Park
In November, 2025, Kerala Chief Minister (CM) Pinarayi Vijayan announced that a Letter of Intent (LoI) has been signed with UAE (United Arab Emirates) -based Al (Artificial Intelligence) Marzooqi Holdings FZC (Free Zone Company) for a Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) of Rs 850 crore to develop the Meridian Tech Park in Technopark Phase III, in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

About the LoI:
Twin Towers: The Meridian Tech Park will be developed on 3.5 acres within the 90-acre Phase III Technopark campus and will consist of twin 21-storey towers with over 1 million sq ft of built-up area.
LEED campus: It is designed as a sustainable, energy-efficient hub, the project aims for LEED Platinum certification and adopts high-density vertical architecture enabled by floor-area-ratio 7 zoning, optimizing land use.
Job Creation: Once operational, the project is expected to create over 10,000 direct and indirect jobs in the IT and allied sectors.

Maharashtra Becomes First State to Sign Deal with StralinkOn November 5,2025, the Government of Maharashtra has announced that it becomes the first state in India to sign a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Elon Musk’s Starlink Satellite Communications Private Limited, a subsidiary of SpaceX, to provide satellite-based internet services across government institutions, rural communities, and critical public infrastructure.

About Starlink-Maharashtra Partnership:
Target Areas: Starlink will deploy high-speed internet access in remote and underserved districts such as Gadchiroli, Nandurbar, Washim, and Dharashiv in Maharashtra where traditional fiber connectivity is limited.
Planned Deployment: Satellite internet terminals will be installed in schools, health centres, disaster control rooms, and forest and coastal outposts, while connectivity will extend to key transport routes, ports, ferries, and coastal police networks.
Regulatory Approval:  The LoI is contingent on regulatory clearances from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), and Starlink had already conducted demo tests in Mumbai(Maharashtra) on 30-31 October 2025 to validate compliance with Indian technical and security norms.
Alignment: This partnership aligns with Maharashtra’s “Digital Maharashtra” mission and supports India’s broader Digital India initiative by focusing on connectivity in regions cut off by terrain or cost.
Gateway Earth Stations: The company plans to set up nine gateway earth stations in cities including Mumbai, Noida(Uttar Pradesh, UP); Chandigarh(Punjab); Hyderabad(Telangana); Kolkata(West Bengal, WB) and Lucknow(Uttarakhand) and has applied for 600 Gigabits per second(Gbps) capacity through its 1st Gen(Generation) satellite constellation.
