PM Narendra Modi Virtually Inaugurates India’s First Global MRO facility of Safran ‘SAESI’ in Hyderabad, Telangana
On November 26, 2025, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated Safran Aircraft Engine Services India (SAESI) facility, India’s first global aircraft engine Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) facility built by France based Safran S.A, at the GMR Aerospace & Industrial Park – Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport(RGIA), in Hyderabad, Telangana.

• During the event, he also virtually inaugurated the Infinity Campus of Skyroot Aerospace Private Limited and unveiled Vikram-I, India’s first developed orbital rocket.

About Safran Aircraft Engine Services India (SAESI) facility: 
Overview: SAESI, spanning 45,000 square metres (sq. m) is a modern MRO centre dedicated to servicing Leading Edge Aviation Propulsion (LEAP) engines, which power aircraft such as Airbus A320neo family and Boeing 737 MAX.
Budget: The facility, with a budget outlay of approximately Rs.1300 crores (USD 145 million), is equipped with engine test cells, state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, high-precision repair systems, component inspection & overhaul station.
About Skyroot Infinity Campus: Skyroot Infinity Campus, spanning approximately 200,000 square feet (sq ft), is a dedicated facility for designing, developing, integrating, and testing rockets.
About Vikram-I Rocket: 
Overview: Vikram-I Rocket, an orbital-class rocket, is approximately 20 metres (m) tall with a diameter of 1.7 (m) and designed to carry a payload of approximately 300-350 Kilogram (kg) to Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Its maiden flight is expected in 2026.
Significance: The Vikram series, named after Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, the father of the Indian Space Programme, is being developed to tap into the rapidly growing multi-million-dollar small satellite launch market.

DAHD Released Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics 2025In November 2025, Union Minister of State (MoS) Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying (MoFAHD)and Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) released the annual publication of ‘Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics (BAHS-2025)’ on the occasion of National Milk Day (observed on November 26, 2025) at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi, Delhi.

• BAHS 2025 of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), provides comprehensive data on the livestock and dairy sector trends in the country.

Key Findings:
Milk Production: At present, India ranks 1st in milk production globally.
Increase in Milk Production: As per the latest survey, India’s total milk production is estimated as 247.87 Million Tonnes (MT)during 2024-25 compared to 239.30 MT production registered in 2023-24, marking 3.58% Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) growth.

• Top 5 Milk Producing States: Uttar Pradesh (UP) (15.66%) topped among all major milk producing states in India; followed by Rajasthan (14.82%), Madhya Pradesh (MP) (9.12%), Gujarat (7.78%), and Maharashtra (6.71%).

Egg Production: Currently, India is 2nd in egg production worldwide. The survey revealed that overall total egg production in the country is estimated as 149.11 billion numbers (nos.) during 2024-25, registering a 3.18% Y-o-Y increase.

• Top 5 Egg Producing States: Andhra Pradesh (AP) with the share of 18.37% of total egg production, has topped among all states in egg production; followed by Tamil Nadu (TN)(15.63%), Telangana (12.98%), West Bengal (WB)(10.72%), and Karnataka(6.67%).

Overview of 44th IITF Held in New Delhi, Delhi
The 44th edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF), one of India’s largest trade and business exhibitions,  was held from November 14 to 27, 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, Delhi, under the theme ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.

• IITF-2025 was inaugurated by Union Minister of State (MoS) Jitin Prasada, MoC&I and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

About IITF-2025:
Organiser: The 14-day long trade fair was organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), which works under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoC&I).
Partner States and Focus State: This year, Uttar Pradesh (UP), Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Bihar were the partner states of IITF-2025, while Jharkhand was the focus state.
IITF 2025 Awards: IITF-2025 concluded successfully with an Award Presentation ceremony held at the Musical Fountain Stage at Bharat Mandapam.

• Dr. Neeraj Kharwal, Managing Director (MD) of ITPO, presented the IITF 2025 Awards for Excellence in Display.

Key Winners: Rajasthan Bihar, Uttar Pradesh (UP) received the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal, respectively  in the partner states category, while Maharashtra received the Special Commendation certificate in the same category.

• Also, Odisha won the Gold medal in States and Union Territories (UTs) category, followed by Madhya Pradesh (MP) (Silver) and UT Puducherry (Bronze).

Union MoS Dr. Jitendra Singh Inaugurates Two DWRs, Solar Power System, Meteorological Museum On November 27, 2025, Union Minister of State (MoS) Independent Charge (IC), Dr. Jitendra Singh, Ministry of Science and Technology (MoS&T), inaugurated three major initiatives of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), enhancing India’s meteorological infrastructure, promoting Renewable Energy(RE), and strengthening public engagement in science.

• These initiatives comprise two indigenously developed Doppler Weather Radars (DWRs) in Raipur (Chhattisgarh) and Mangaluru (Karnataka), along with a solar power system and a Meteorological Museum at Mausam Bhawan, New Delhi(Delhi), designed to benefit students and young learners.

Key Initiatives of IMD:
Doppler Weather Radars:
Raipur: The Raipur DWR, first in Chhattisgarh, uses dual-polarized solid-state C-band technology with 250 kilometre (km) range to detect heavy rainfall, storms, hail, lightning, and turbulence.

• It provides improved forecasts for Chhattisgarh, interior Odisha, Eastern Madhya Pradesh (MP), Southwest Jharkhand, and Southern East Uttar Pradesh (UP).

Mangaluru: The DWR in Mangaluru, is the first IMD radar in Karnataka. It has 250 km of coverage to monitor the Arabian Sea, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Goa, South Maharashtra, and Northern Lakshadweep.

• It can track cyclones, thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, hailstorms, squalls, and turbulence, thereby strengthening disaster preparedness along the west coast and aiding short-range weather forecasting.

Meteorological Museum:
Inspiration: The museum showcases IMD’s 150‑year journey to inspire students and young learners.
Technology: It showcases historic weather instruments, radar and satellite components, upper air-observation systems, and communication tools, with interactive Audio-Visual (AV) facilities for educational purposes.
About Solar Power System:
Installation: A 771-kilowatt peak (kWp) solar power system has been installed at Mausam Bhawan, New Delhi.
Implementation: The system consists of 1,315 solar panels and was set up by the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
Significance: It supports Renewable Energy(RE) adoption, helps reduce electricity costs, and reinforces IMD’s commitment to sustainability and clean energy.

Railtel Signs Agreement with Nokia to Modernize its NLD & Optical Transport Network across India
On November 25, 2025, Railtel Corporation of India Limited (Railtel), under Ministry of Railways (MoR), signed an agreement with Nokia Corporation (Nokia) to upgrade its National Long-Distance (NLD) and metro optical transport networks across India.

RailTel Network Modernization:
Purpose: These upgrades aim to meet the rising demand for faster, more reliable internet connectivity while reducing operational costs.
Network Expansion:The modernization includes deployment of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) to expand existing fiber, installation of Nokia 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) for optical transport, and Nokia 7750 Service Router (SR) for high-speed Internet Protocol(IP) routing, deployment of Carrier-Grade – Network Address Translation (CG-NAT) along with integration of metro networks.
Architecture: It also implements an open-network, vendor-neutral architecture to ensure future upgrade flexibility.
DWDM: It enables multiple light wavelengths to travel through the same fiber, significantly multiplying data capacity without laying new cables.

India, Afghanistan Set to Create Bilateral Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry
In November 2025, India and Afghanistan agreed to create a bilateral Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry during the visit of Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, Afghan Minister of Commerce and Industry, to India from November 19 to 25, 2025.

• The chamber will serve as the central platform for business matchmaking, policy coordination, trade facilitation, and investment promotion.

About Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry:
Commercial & Trade Attaches: As part of this framework, India and Afghanistan will appoint commercial and trade attaches in their embassies in New Delhi (Delhi) and Kabul (Afghanistan).
Purpose: The joint chamber will institutionalise trade cooperation, encourage collaboration across multiple sectors, and provide a clear platform for businesses from both countries to work together.
Air-Freight Corridors: With an aim to complement the initiative, new air-freight corridors connecting Kabul with Delhi and Amritsar (Punjab) have been opened to reduce delays, particularly for high-value goods.
Priority Sectors: It includes Agriculture & Food products, Pharmaceuticals, Textiles & Garments, Species & Agro-Processing, Industrial & Investment Prospects.

IIT Madras Deploys India’s First Indigenous VTMS for Ports in Kerala
In November 2025, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras),
in Chennai(Tamil Nadu, TN), has developed and deployed India’s first Indigenous Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS) for ports.

• The system has been operational at the Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited (VISL) in Kerala since its inauguration by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi in May 2025.

Efficiency & Flexibility: It offers low deployment and maintenance costs while its open-source architecture enables rapid customisation with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)-independent radar and voice-data interfacing
Security: The VTMS enhances data security, ensures technological autonomy, reduces foreign dependency, and cuts costs by avoiding vendor lock-in and foreign exchange(forex) outflow.

Telangana Launched India’s First Bioprocess Design and Scale-Up Facility ‘1 Bio’ in Genome Valley, Hyderabad
In November 2025, the Government of Telangana launched 1 Bio, India’s first single-use bioprocess design and scale-up facility, at Genome Valley, Hyderabad, Telangana.

• The facility was inaugurated by D. Sridhar Babu, Minister of Information Technology(IT), Electronics & Communication, Industries & Commerce and Legislative Affairs, Telangana, who also unveiled a new logo to celebrate 25 years of Genome Valley.

About 1 Bio Facility:
Overview: The facility offers end-to-end process development and pilot-scale validation for biologics and next-generation therapeutics across a 2-acre Genome Valley campus, featuring 1.5 lakh square feet (sq. ft.) of Research & Development (R&D) labs, innovation suites, and bioprocess training facilities.
Investment: Funded with Rs 150 crore from the Telangana government for core infrastructure and Rs 90 crore from Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. for the Bioprocess Design Centre(BDC) and Customer Experience Centre(CEC).
Collaborations : Developed through a Public-Private Partnership(PPP) with Telangana Lifesciences (TGLS); Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC); Department of Biotechnology (DBT) under the Ministry of Science and Technology(MoS&T); and Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc..
Technical Capabilities: Equipped with single-use bioreactors up to 500 litres, advanced upstream and downstream bioprocess systems, dedicated and shared analytical suites, and supports 200–250 researchers and scientists annually.

Nepal Releases NPR 100 Currency Note Featuring 3 Indian Territories ‘Kalapani, Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura’
On November 27, 2025, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the Central Bank of Nepal, released a new Nepalese Rupee (NPR) 100 which features Nepal’s revised political map, including disputed territories like Kalapani, Lipulekh, and Limpiyadhura as part of Nepal.

• Currently, the three territories are controlled by the Government of India (GOI) but claimed by Nepal.

NPR 100 Note Features: 
Front: It features Mount (Mt) Everest on the left, revised map of Nepal in faint green colour in the background at the centre, watermark of Rhododendron, Nepal’s National flower, on the right, and security features.

• The Ashoka Pillar is printed near the map with the text “Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha”.

Back: It features the One-horned rhinoceros.
About Politically Revised Map of Nepal: In May 2020, the Government of Nepal, led by K.P. Sharma Oli adopted a new official political map of Nepal, which includes the disputed areas such as Kalapani, Lipulekh, and Limpiyadhura. The revised political map is included only in the NPR 100 and in no other denomination.
Note: Nepal shares a border of over 1850 km with five Indian states – Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

IMF Report: India’s GDP to Grow at 6.6% in FY26; FX Regime Reclassified
In November 2025, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) released its latest ‘India: 2025 Article IV Consultation’ report projecting India’s real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to grow at 6.6% in Financial Year 2025-26(FY26).

• The report noted that India’s latest Goods and Services Tax (GST 2.0) reforms are expected to mitigate the impact of the United States of America (USA’s) 50% tariffs.

Key Findings:
GDP for FY27: The report has also projected that  India’s real GDP will moderate to 6.2% in FY27, compared to 6.5% in FY25 and 7.8% in the 1st quarter (Q1: April to June) of FY26.
Inflation: The report projects India’s inflation to ease to 2.8% in FY26 from 4.6% last year, but rise to around 4% in FY27.
Reclassification : IMF has reclassified India’s ‘de facto’ exchange rate regime as ‘crawl-like arrangement’ from its previous ‘stabilized classification’.

• Previously, India was moved from a ‘floating’ category to ‘stabilized arrangement’ in 2023.
• A “crawl‑like arrangement” is an exchange rate system with gradual, small periodic currency adjustments.

India’s ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ Enters Oscars 2026 Race for Best Animated Feature Film
In November 2025, India’s mythological animated film Mahavatar Narsimha was officially listed among 35 eligible films for the Best Animated Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards (Oscars 2026), by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).

About the Film Mahavatar Narsimha:
Film Overview: A mythological animated epic directed by Ashwin Kumar and produced by Shilpaa Dhawan under Kleem Productions and Hombale Films, blending 2D–3D animation with an anime-inspired style.
Story & Universe: The film narrates the tale of Lord Narasimha, Prahlad, and Hiranyakashyap, and serves as the first instalment of a planned seven-part Mahavatar Cinematic Universe based on Vishnu’s avatars.
Oscar Eligibility: Listed among 35 qualifying animated features for the 98th Oscars, meeting AMPAS rules requiring a seven-day U.S.A (United States of America) theatrical run, over 40-minute runtime, and at least 75% animation.
Global Competition: The film will compete against major international animated titles such as KPop Demon Hunter, Zootopia 2, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle, The Bad Guys 2, and Elio.

India’s CEC Gyanesh Kumar to Chair IIDEA in 2026
On November 27, 2025, Election Commission of India (ECI) announced that Gyanesh Kumar, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), will assume the Chair of the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IIDEA) on December 3, 2025, during the Council of Member States meeting in Stockholm, Sweden.

• As Chair, he will preside over all council meetings throughout 2026.

Collaboration: As Chair, India will share best practices from its transparent electoral processes with the Electoral Management Body (EMBs) worldwide.

• Joint Programs, workshops, and research between India International Institute of Democracy and Management (IIIDEM) and IIDEA will address challenges such as disinformation, electoral violence, and voter trust erosion.

About IIDEA: It is an inter-governmental organization, established in 1995, working to strengthen democratic institutions worldwide. It has 35 member countries, with the United States of America (USA) and Japan as observers.

World Bank Group Appoints Paschal Donohoe as MD & CKO
In November 2025, the World Bank Group (WBG) announced the appointment of Paschal Donohoe, former Minister for Finance of Ireland, as its Managing Director (MD) and Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO) effective from November 24, 2025, bringing extensive public- and private-sector experience to the position.

• He succeeds Axel van Trotsenburg, who is retiring at the end of November 2025 after a 37-year career.
• He will oversee the World Bank Group’s strategic engagement with governments, civil society organizations, foundations and philanthropies, and private-sector stakeholders.

Trophy: The FIDE Chess World Cup 2025 trophy was officially renamed the Viswanathan Anand Cup in honour of India’s five-time World Chess Champion.

International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People 2025 – November 29The United Nations (UN’s) International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is annually observed across the globe on 29th November to reaffirm the global community’s commitment to the dignity, rights, justice, and self-determination of the Palestinian people.

Background:
Adoption: On 2 December 1977, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted Resolution A/RES/32/40 B, designating 29 November each year as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
First Observance: The first International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People was observed on 29 November 1978.
Significance: The date commemorates the day in 1947 when the UNGA adopted Resolution A/RES/181 (II), known as the Partition Resolution.

• This resolution proposed the creation of a “Jewish State” and an “Arab State” in Palestine, with Jerusalem placed under international administration.

UNGA Resolution on Palestinian Solidarity Day:
Resolution: On 1 December 2005, the UNGA adopted Resolution A/RES/60/37, directing the Committee on Palestinian Rights and the Division for Palestinian Rights, in collaboration with the Palestinian Mission to the UN, to organize an annual exhibition or cultural event on Palestinian rights every 29 November.
Call for Support: The resolution on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People also urges all Member States to actively support and promote the observance of the Day of Solidarity.
2025 Events:
Special Meeting 2025: For the 2025  International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, a “Special Meeting” was held on 28 November 2025 at the United Nations Office at Geneva (Palais des Nations), Switzerland with similar observances held at UN Headquarters in New York, the United States of America(USA) and other UN offices worldwide.
Activities: Observances include statements by officials and civil-society groups, plus cultural events, exhibitions, and campaigns highlighting Palestinian history, rights, and humanitarian issues.

About Every Newborn Action Plan (ENAP):
Endorsement : In 2014, the 194 Member States of the 67th World Health Assembly (WHA) endorsed the Every Newborn Action Plan (ENAP) under Resolution WHA67.10.
Leadership: The action plan was jointly led by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
India Newborn Action Plan (INAP):
Launch: INAP was launched in September 2014, the India Newborn Action Plan (INAP) aims to accelerate the reduction of preventable newborn deaths and stillbirths across the country.
Alignment : INAP represents India’s committed response to the ENAP, introduced at the 67th World Health Assembly (WHA) in June 2014 under the Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health.
India’s Leadership: In 2014, India became the first country to develop a national newborn action plan aligned with the Global ENAP, reinforcing its goal of ending preventable newborn and stillbirth deaths.
Neonatal Mortality Status (NFHS-5): According to the NFHS-5, India’s neonatal mortality rate stands at 24.9 deaths per 1,000 live births. The leading causes of deaths during the newborn period include prematurity, sepsis, and birth asphyxia.
2025 Event:
Release of Updated Guidelines: In November 2025, the MoHFW released revised operational guidelines under the Facility-Based Newborn Care (FBNC) programme, the first update in 14 years, to strengthen newborn care across hospitals and health-care facilities.
Strengthening Continuum of Care: The updated guidelines reinforce a continuum of care by integrating FBNC with Home-Based Newborn Care (HBNC) and Home-Based Care for Young Child (HBYC), ensuring seamless support from birth through post-discharge home care.

AAI’s Aviation Safety Awareness Week 2025 – November 24 – 28The Airport Authority of India (AAI), under the Ministry of Civil Aviation(MoCA), annually observes Aviation Safety Awareness Week (ASAW) every November at all airports and Air Navigation Services (ANS) locations it manages across India to promote aviation safety awareness.

• Aviation Safety Awareness Week 2025 was observed from 24th to 28th November 2025. 

History of Indian Aviation:
Early Beginnings: India’s civil aviation journey began in 1911 when pilot Henri Pequet operated the country’s first commercial flight from Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh, UP) to Naini (UP), covering a distance of about 10 miles.
Scheduled Air Services: The establishment of Tata Airlines in 1932 marked the formal beginning of scheduled air services in India.
Global Integration: In 1947, India became a member of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), strengthening its presence in global aviation.
First Woman Pilot: Sarla Thakral created history by becoming India’s first woman pilot, a milestone that opened new horizons for women in aviation.
