It has retained India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth projection at 6.8% for FY25 (2024-25) and cited high interest rates and lower fiscal boost are the main factors which would temper the demand in the non-agricultural sectors.
- The agency also noted that India’s economic growth continues to surprise on the upside as it revised India’s GDP up to 8.2% for full FY24(2023-24).

iii.S&P Global Ratings also estimated that India’s retail inflation for FY25 will be at 4.5%. This projection about inflation is in alignment with the RBI’s retail inflation projections for FY25 which is estimated at 4.5%, with Q1 at 4.9%, Q2 at 3.8%, Q3 at 4.6% and Q4 at 4.5%.
iv.The rating agency has raised its GDP projection for China from 4.6% to 4.8% for FY25.
