PM Narendra Modi Addressed Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas; Inaugurated Development Projects Worth Rs 9,700 Crore in GujaratIn November 2025, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi addressed the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas programme, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of revered tribal leader and freedom fighter Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda, in Dediapada town of the tribal-dominated Narmada district in Gujarat.

• During the event, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth more than Rs 9,700 crore.

Key Highlights of PM Modi’s Visit:
Establishment of Govind Guru Chair : While addressing the event, PM Modi announced the establishment of Shri Govind Guru Chair for Tribal Language Promotion Centre (TLPC) in Narmada district, Gujarat.
Key Projects Inaugurated: During his visit, PM Modi participated in the Grih Pravesh of 1 lakh houses constructed under Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JAGUA).

• He inaugurated 42 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) dedicated to tribal students for community-led activities, built at a cost of around Rs 1,900 crore.
• PM Modi also inaugurated 228 multi-purpose centres that serve as hubs for community-based activities.
• He also flagged off 250 buses for 14 tribal districts of Gujarat, aimed to enhance connectivity in tribal regions of the state.

Laid Foundation Stones for Projects: he laid the foundation stone for 748 kilometer (km)-long new roads .

• He also laid the foundation stone of 50 new EMRSs estimated to be constructed at a cost of more than Rs 2,320 crore.

MoHFW celebrates Amrit Pharmacy’s 10 anniversary, inaugrates 10 new AMRIT outlets across IndiaIn November 2025, the Union Minister J P Nadda, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) inaugurated AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment) Pharmacy’s 10th Anniversary Celebrations at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Delhi.

• The MoHFW has also inaugurated 10 new AMRIT pharmacies outlets across India.

Key Highlights
Purpose: The AMRIT Pharmacies provide life-saving and essential medicines at discounts ranging from 50% to 90%, substantially bringing down treatment costs for patients, especially those from low-income backgrounds.
AMRIT 1st Outlet: The first outlet was inaugurated on 15th November 2015 at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi.
New Outlets: The MoHFW inaugurated 10 new AMRIT outlets across India, a significant step towards enhancing affordable access to essential medicines and medical supplies.
Other launches: The Minister also released ‘Customised My Stamp’ in association with Indian Post.

India Skills Report 2026: Employability Rises to 56.35%; Women Surpass Men for the First Time in 5 YearsIn November 2025, Educational Testing Service (ETS), in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Taggd, released the 13th edition of India Skills Report(2026).  As per the report, India’s employability rose to 56.35% in 2026 from 54.81% in 2025, reflecting a growing shift toward a skill-first economy shaped by AI adoption, digital skills, and global workforce mobility.

• The report showed women employability now stands at 54%, surpassing men employability i.e. at 51.5% for the 1st time in 5 years, driven by hybrid work and digital skilling initiatives.

Key Findings:
Increase in AI Talent: The report highlighted that India now holds 16% of global AI talent, which is expected to reach 1.25 million professionals by 2027.

• The report further revealed that more than 90% of employees across sectors use Generative AI tools, while 70% of Information Technology (IT) and 50% of Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI), organisations have adopted AI-based recruitment systems.

Gig Economy Growth: As per the report, India’s gig and freelance workforce is projected to reach 23.5 million by 2030, with project-based hiring increasing by 38% compared to last year.
Global Talent Hub: The report has projected that global labor shortages will reach 85 million by 2030, while India is expected to supply a surplus of 45 skilled professionals, positioning it as the main talent hub at international level.
Emerging Employability Hubs: The report noted that Tier-2 and Tier–3 cities like Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh, UP), Kochi (Kerala) and Union Territory (UT) Chandigarh, are emerging robust employability hubs in India, fixing the urban and rural skill gap.
Top 3 Employable State: As per the report, UP, Maharashtra and Karnataka, are the top 3 states with highest employability in 2026.

IOCL, BPCL, HPCL Sign One-Year Contract to Import 2.2 MTPA of LPG from USAIn November 2025, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) signed a one-year structured contract to import about 2.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) for 2026 from the suppliers of United States of America (USA).

• This marks India’s first-ever structured LPG purchase deal directly from the USA for a long-term supply.
• The 2.2 MTPA deal represents nearly 10% of India’s annual LPG imports.

About LPG Supply Deal:
LPG Supply: Under the contract, the LPG will be sourced from the Gulf Coast of USA, with pricing linked to Mont Belvieu, the benchmark for USA LPG.
Significance: The deal marks the first long-term, structured agreement, encompassing fixed annual quantity, predictable pricing, and assured supply over the entire contract period.

• Earlier, India imported LPG from the USA only through one-time shipments.

India’s LPG Demand:
LPG Consumption: India is one of the world’s largest consumers of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), mainly used for household cooking.
Imports: Domestic LPG production meets only about 35% of India’s demand, making the country heavily dependent on imports for the remaining 65%.

• The Gulf region dominates India’s LPG imports, with Qatar as the largest supplier, followed by the United Arab Emirates(UAE), Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

USA Imports: After recent tariff announcements, India has significantly increased LPG purchases from the USA, along with crude oil and LNG imports.

IPC Signed MoU with JSPC to Promote Pharmacovigilance in Jharkhand
In November 2025, the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jharkhand State Pharmacy Council (JSPC) to promote medicine safety and boost pharmacovigilance in the state.

• The MoU was signed by Dr. V. Kalaiselvanc, Secretary-cum-Scientific Director of IPC; and Prasanth Kumar Pandey, Registrar-cum-Secretary of JSPC.

Key Details of MoU:
Capacity Building: Through this strategic partnership, IPC and JSPC will jointly work to build the capacity of registered pharmacists in areas related to Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting, pharmacovigilance and materiovigilance practices, and the safe use of medicines.
Standardization: The collaboration seeks to promote the National Formulary of India (NFI) as a key reference for pharmacists in Jharkhand, supporting rational dispensing and safe medication practices.
Key Roles: As per the MoU, IPC will provide technical assistance and expert support for these initiatives, while JSPC will coordinate with pharmacists in public and private healthcare institutes to ensure effective implementation of the agreed activities.

Asia’s Largest Elevated Metro Depot Inaugurated in Mumbai for Line 2B
In November 2025, Mandale Depot for Mumbai Metro Line 2B, spread over 32 hectares, was inaugurated in Mumbai, Maharashtra, becoming Asia’s largest and first elevated metro facility.

• This 23.6 kilometer (km)-long elevated Metro Line 2B connects DN Nagar (Andheri West) to Mandale (in Mankhurd East) of Mumbai.

About Mandale Depot:
Developed by: This new state-of-the-art depot was developed by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
Capacity: The Mandale Depot, a two-level structure, has the capacity to accommodate 72 rakes.

• The depot houses India’s longest 965 meter (m)-long test track for advanced train trials, along with four Shunting Necks and one Elevated Neck to optimize train movement and reduce turnaround time.

Control Centre: The depot is anchored by a G+3 Depot Control Centre that functions as the brain of the system, designed to work around the clock and monitor train movement, maintenance schedules, and safety systems in real time.
Other Key Features: The new depot features a 175 kilolitre per Day (KLD) effluent and sewage treatment system for recycling water, over 100 kilometer( km) of underground utilities for smooth operations, and noise and dust suppression systems to reduce environmental impact.

Goa Police Becomes First in India to Achieve 100% Cyber Fraud Response Rate
On November 17, 2025, Goa Police made history by becoming the first state police force in India to achieve a 100% response rate in cyber fraud-related complaints. With cybercrime on the rise, the Goa Cyber Crime Police Unit enhanced its capabilities to investigate, respond, and provide timely relief to victims, gaining national recognition.

• Despite steady annual losses due to cyber fraud, such a high response rate indicates improved vigilance and operational efficiency in the state’s law enforcement.

100% Cyber Fraud Response: It signifies that every single cyber fraud complaint registered through any platform has been acknowledged immediately, assigned to an officer, acted upon without delay, and followed up until resolution or escalation.

• No complaint is ignored or left pending at the initial response stage.

Background:
CFCFRMS Platform: Goa Police use the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting & Management System (CFCFRMS), a national platform that tracks fraudulent digital transactions in real time, sends alerts to bank and payment platforms, helps freeze suspicious accounts, and prevents withdrawal of defrauded money.
Integration: The complaints received through Cyber Fraud Helpline 1930 and National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP) are instantly forwarded to Goa Police cyber unit.

8th India–France Bilateral Air Exercise ‘Garuda’ Begins in FranceOn November 16, 2025, the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the French Air and Space Force (FASF) began the 8th edition of the bilateral air exercise ‘Garuda’ at the Mont-de-Marsan Air Base in France. The exercise will run until 27 November 2025.

Background:
Origin: Exercise Garuda, launched in 2003, is a bilateral air combat exercise between the IAF and the FASF, conducted alternately in India and France to strengthen interoperability, coordination, and operational capabilities.
Previous edition: 7th edition of Garuda exercise was held at Jodhpur Air Force Station in Jodhpur, Rajasthan from 26 October to 12 November 2022.
About Garuda 25:
Objectives: The exercise aims to refine operational tactics and procedures while fostering interoperability, mutual learning, professional interaction, and the exchange of operational knowledge and best practices between both air forces.
Focus: The exercise centres on air-to-air combat, air defence operations, and joint strike missions conducted in high-intensity simulated combat environments.
Participation: The IAF is participating with Su-30MKI fighter aircraft supported by C-17 Globemaster III airlift and IL-78 air-to-air refuelling tankers, operating alongside French Rafale and other multirole fighters in complex air-combat scenarios.
Collaboration: Exercise Garuda 25 also serves as a platform for professional interaction, exchange of operational expertise, and sharing of best practices between the Indian and French Air Forces.
Significance: The exercise highlights the IAF’s commitment to global engagement and strengthens defence cooperation under the India–France Strategic Partnership, established in 1998 and covering defence, security, nuclear, space, and Indo-Pacific cooperation.

3rd International Ayurveda Conference Held in Sao Paulo, Brazil
In November 2025,  Dinesh Bhatia, Ambassador of India to Brazil, inaugurated the 3rd International Ayurveda Conference, jointly organized by the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC) and Conayur Sao Paulo (Conselho Nacional de Ayurveda), held in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

• The conference, held from November 14 to 15, 2025, marked the 40 years of the practice of Ayurveda in Brazil.
• Brazil is the first South American country to recognize Ayurveda.

About International Ayurveda Conference 2025:
Aim: The conference aimed at strengthening India-Brazil cooperation in traditional medicine and holistic health systems.
Theme: The 2025 edition was held under the theme titled “Diversity and Inclusion in Ayurveda: Caring for Everybody and Every Being”.
Patronage: The event was held under the patronage of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

India’s First Indigenous High-Precision & Compact Diode Laser launched at ESTIC in New Delhi
In November 2025, Union Minister of State (MoS) Independent Charge (IC) Dr. Jitendra Singh, Ministry of Science and Technology (MoS&T), launched India’s first indigenous high-precision and compact diode laser at the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave 2025 (ESTIC 2025) at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Delhi.

• The diode laser supports quantum encrypted communication via Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), providing enhanced cybersecurity for financial and banking transactions.

Developer: The laser has been developed by Prenishq Private Limited, a startup supported by the National Quantum Mission (NQM) and a startup from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Delhi.
Support: The advanced laser will support quantum research, education, and scientific applications, offering enhanced beam quality, high stability, and long-term reliability, and can easily integrate with laboratory and industrial systems.
Features: The device includes integrated driver electronics, providing stable output. Its compact, low-power, small form factor and plug-and-play design make it suitable for both teaching and advanced research.

Veteran Bollywood Actress Kamini Kaushal Passed Away
In November 2025, Renowned Bollywood actress Kamini Kaushal passed away at the age of 98 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She was born on 24 February 1927, in Lahore (presently Pakistan).

About Kamini Kaushal:
Overview: Kamini Kaushal, also known as Uma Kashyap, began her career in the movie Neecha Nagar (1946). Her career spanned more than seven decades.
Career: Her works include Do Bhai (1947), Shaheed (1948), Nadiya Ke Paar (1948), Ziddi (1948), Shabnam (1949), Paras (1949), Namoona (1949), and Arzoo (1950). In recent years, she also acted in Laaga Chunari Mein Daag (2007), Chennai Express (2013), and Kabir Singh (2019).

• She last appeared in Laal Singh Chaddha (2022).

International Recognition: Her debut film Neecha Nagar (1946) won the Grand Prix at the first Cannes Film Festival, making it the first Indian film to receive major international acclaim.
Other Awards: In 1956, she received Filmfare Award-Best Actress for Biraj Bahu. She also received Kalpana Chawla Achievement Award (2013) and Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award (2015).

Proclamation: UNGA proclaimed to commemorate the adoption of the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC), also known as Palermo Convention, of 15 November 2000.
