In November 2025, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi addressed the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas programme, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of revered tribal leader and freedom fighter Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda, in Dediapada town of the tribal-dominated Narmada district in Gujarat.
- During the event, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth more than Rs 9,700 crore.
Key Highlights of PM Modi’s Visit:
Establishment of Govind Guru Chair : While addressing the event, PM Modi announced the establishment of Shri Govind Guru Chair for Tribal Language Promotion Centre (TLPC) in Narmada district, Gujarat.
Key Projects Inaugurated: During his visit, PM Modi participated in the Grih Pravesh of 1 lakh houses constructed under Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JAGUA).
- He inaugurated 42 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) dedicated to tribal students for community-led activities, built at a cost of around Rs 1,900 crore.
- PM Modi also inaugurated 228 multi-purpose centres that serve as hubs for community-based activities.
- He also flagged off 250 buses for 14 tribal districts of Gujarat, aimed to enhance connectivity in tribal regions of the state.

MoHFW celebrates Amrit Pharmacy’s 10 anniversary, inaugrates 10 new AMRIT outlets across India
In November 2025, the Union Minister J P Nadda, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) inaugurated AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment) Pharmacy’s 10th Anniversary Celebrations at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Delhi.
- The MoHFW has also inaugurated 10 new AMRIT pharmacies outlets across India.
Key Highlights
Purpose: The AMRIT Pharmacies provide life-saving and essential medicines at discounts ranging from 50% to 90%, substantially bringing down treatment costs for patients, especially those from low-income backgrounds.
AMRIT 1st Outlet: The first outlet was inaugurated on 15th November 2015 at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi.
New Outlets: The MoHFW inaugurated 10 new AMRIT outlets across India, a significant step towards enhancing affordable access to essential medicines and medical supplies.
Other launches: The Minister also released ‘Customised My Stamp’ in association with Indian Post.

India Skills Report 2026: Employability Rises to 56.35%; Women Surpass Men for the First Time in 5 Years
In November 2025, Educational Testing Service (ETS), in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Taggd, released the 13th edition of India Skills Report(2026). As per the report, India’s employability rose to 56.35% in 2026 from 54.81% in 2025, reflecting a growing shift toward a skill-first economy shaped by AI adoption, digital skills, and global workforce mobility.
- The report showed women employability now stands at 54%, surpassing men employability i.e. at 51.5% for the 1st time in 5 years, driven by hybrid work and digital skilling initiatives.
Key Findings:
Increase in AI Talent: The report highlighted that India now holds 16% of global AI talent, which is expected to reach 1.25 million professionals by 2027.
- The report further revealed that more than 90% of employees across sectors use Generative AI tools, while 70% of Information Technology (IT) and 50% of Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI), organisations have adopted AI-based recruitment systems.
Gig Economy Growth: As per the report, India’s gig and freelance workforce is projected to reach 23.5 million by 2030, with project-based hiring increasing by 38% compared to last year.
Global Talent Hub: The report has projected that global labor shortages will reach 85 million by 2030, while India is expected to supply a surplus of 45 skilled professionals, positioning it as the main talent hub at international level.
Emerging Employability Hubs: The report noted that Tier-2 and Tier–3 cities like Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh, UP), Kochi (Kerala) and Union Territory (UT) Chandigarh, are emerging robust employability hubs in India, fixing the urban and rural skill gap.
Top 3 Employable State: As per the report, UP, Maharashtra and Karnataka, are the top 3 states with highest employability in 2026.

IOCL, BPCL, HPCL Sign One-Year Contract to Import 2.2 MTPA of LPG from USA
In November 2025, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) signed a one-year structured contract to import about 2.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) for 2026 from the suppliers of United States of America (USA).
- This marks India’s first-ever structured LPG purchase deal directly from the USA for a long-term supply.
- The 2.2 MTPA deal represents nearly 10% of India’s annual LPG imports.

IPC Signed MoU with JSPC to Promote Pharmacovigilance in Jharkhand
In November 2025, the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jharkhand State Pharmacy Council (JSPC) to promote medicine safety and boost pharmacovigilance in the state.
- The MoU was signed by Dr. V. Kalaiselvanc, Secretary-cum-Scientific Director of IPC; and Prasanth Kumar Pandey, Registrar-cum-Secretary of JSPC.

- The diode laser supports quantum encrypted communication via Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), providing enhanced cybersecurity for financial and banking transactions.

Background:
Designation: In March 2024, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Resolution 78/267 designated 15th November each year as the International Day for the Prevention of and Fight Against All Forms of TOC.
Proclamation: UNGA proclaimed to commemorate the adoption of the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC), also known as Palermo Convention, of 15 November 2000.
First Observance: The International Day for the Prevention of and Fight Against All Forms of Transnational Organized Crime was first observed in 2024.

- The Press Council of India was re-established in 1979 as a statutory, quasi-judicial, autonomous authority under the Press Council Act, 1978.
