RBI Discontinued Daily VRR Auctions Amid Banking Liquidity Surplus
In June 2025, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) discontinued its daily Variable Rate Repo (VRR) auctions due to a liquidity surplus of Rs. 2.75 to Rs. 3 lakh crore in the banking system, exceeding 1% of Net Demand and Time Liabilities (NDTL), effective from 11 June 2025.
