In January 2026, Justice Revati Mohite-Dere, a judge of the Bombay High Court(HC), was sworn in as the first woman Chief Justice(CJ) of Meghalaya HC with oath of office administered by Chandrashekhar H. Vijayashankar, Governor of Meghalaya, at the Durbar Hall of Lok Bhavan in Shillong, Meghalaya.
