CSIR collaborates with Intel India and IIIT-HyderabadThe Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) working with Intel India and International Institute of Information Technology(IIIT), Hyderabad in developing a faster and cost efficient COVID-19 diagnostic solution, an IT technology to understand epidemiology and AI based risk stratification for the patients.

Key Points:

i.Intel India is developing an end-to-end system which consists of multiple applications, testing devices, data collection gateways, a data exchange SDK and an AI model-hub Platform as a part of this initiative.

ii.Intel India is focusing on deploying advanced technology in finding an effective and scalable solution for urgent local needs. The technologies have become cheaper, accessible and efficient compared to the time of SARS-CoV-1.

iii. This enables the diagnostics, drug and vaccine discovery with higher predictability, speed and accuracy.

iv.IIIT-Hyderabad is developing the risk stratification algorithm to help in drug and vaccine discovery to combat the epidemic in the long run.

v.To perform comprehensive diagnostics the constituent labs of CSIR like, Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology(IGIB), Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) and others are collaborating with various hospitals and diagnostic chains.
