Cristiano Ronaldo has won the prestigious Ballon d’Or 2014 Award. He has beaten Argentina’s Lionel Messi and won this award for a second consecutive year. Ronaldo was voted best player in the world ahead of the Argentina and Barcelona forward Messi and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer at a FIFA ceremony.
Ronaldo received the most votes from a panel which includes captains, coaches of some national teams and a selection of the world’s media.
