TRAI on 16th October 2015 made it compulsory that telecom operators should give a compensation of one rupee for consumers on call drops.
Effective from – 1st january 2016
Compensation Limit : Three dropped calls in a day.
A message through SMS or USSD will be send to the customer within four hours of the call drop by the telecom operator.The details of the amount credited in the account will also be informed.
In the case of postpaid customers the details will be informed during the next bill.
The implementation of the TRAI’s instruction and the measures initiated by the service provider to minimize the dropped call will be watched by the TRAI.A review on this will be there after six months
