On 9th November 2020, Naveen Patnaik Chief Minister (CM) of Odisha launched a mobile application – “Secha Samadhan” to enable farmers to directly connect with the Water Resources Department. He also launched 3 online services to solve the issues on water distribution for industries, commercial establishments and other institutes.
About Secha Samadhan:
i.With this application the farmers can send their grievances through photographs or videos and immediate steps will be taken regarding the grievances of the farmers.
ii.The farmers will be informed on the status of their complaints through SMS.
Other initiatives:
i.The Go Swift portal developed by the Water Resources department enables the industries to apply for water.
ii.The department has also launched a website : www.waterallocationod.nic.in for the distribution of water to commercial establishments and others.
iii.The CM also launched portals to provide online services for community lift irrigation projects under the Biju Krushak Yojana. this portal was developed to receive and process the applications of the farmers for installation of CLIPs.
Key Points:
i.Raghunandan Dash, Minister of State for Water Resources stated that these initiatives will fulfill the goals of the 5T (Team work, Transparency, Technology, Time leading to Transformation) initiative and enable an efficient and accountable administration.
ii.CM Naveen Patnaik stated that these digital applications will enable the water resource department to quickly address the grievances of the farmers, the largest beneficiary of the department.

On 19th October 2020 Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha launched the electricity consumer service portal “Mo Bidyut” and mobile application, over a virtual platform. The portal was developed by the Energy Department and dedicated to the public under the 5T (Team work, Transparency, Technology, Time leading to Transformation) mechanism, an initiative of the government of Odisha.
