West Indies opening batsman Chris Gayle became the first batsman to score a double century in a World Cup. He reached this remarkable feat against Zimbabwe in a Pool B clash in Canberra. He reached 200 runs in just 138 balls. At the end of the innings he scored 215 runs from 147 deliveries, which includes 16 sixes and 10 fours. Gayle became the first non-Indian player to score a double century in ODIs after Sachin Tendulkar, Sehwag, and Rohit Sharma. Gayle’s double ton is the fifth one in all ODI Cricket.
