Chhattisgarh Disburses 1800 crores for MUDRA

The Chhattisgarh government has disbursed Rs 1, 821-crore loans to several beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA (Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency) Yojana (PMMY)

MUDRA Yojana

• The scheme was launched in April 2015 and was aimed to provide funding to the non-corporate, small business sector
• Under PMMY, loans between Rs 50,000 and Rs 10 lakh are provided to small entrepreneurs
• Three products are available under the PMMY that include Shishu, Kishor and Tarun
• Shishu covers loans of up to Rs 50,000
• Kishor covers above Rs 50,000 and up to Rs 5 lakh.
• Tarun category provides loans of above Rs 5 lakh and up to Rs 10 lakh

• The Chhattisgarh state government had designed a grass-root level planning to promote the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) for facilitating investment in the sector
• The Department of Commerce and Industry planned to organise workshop in each district in which public representatives were invited
• The first phase of the programme covered six of the 27 districts
• The banks disbursed Rs 50 crore to the beneficiaries
• In Chhattisgarh 4,83,792 applicationswere received for seeking loans under the scheme
