On August 10, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the following proposals.
Cabinet approved MoU between India and Indonesia on Health cooperation
On August 10, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Indonesia on health cooperation.
i. A Working Group will be set to work on the areas of cooperation and implementation of the MoU.
ii. The areas of cooperation are:
- Research and development, active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and IT-based medical equipment;
- Human Resource Development;
- Health services; and
- Any other area as may be mutually agreed upon.
Cabinet approved MoU between India and Indonesia on Scientific and Technological Cooperation
On August 10, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Indonesia on Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
- The MoU was signed by Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Minister for Science, Technology and Earth Sciences and Mr. Mohamad Nasir, Minister for Research, Technology and Higher Education, Indonesia in May 2018.
- This will promote cooperation in the fields of science and technology between India and Indonesia and will include researchers academia, R&D laboratories and companies from both the countries.
- Areas of collaboration are: Information and Communication Technology; Marine Science & Technology; Life Sciences (including Biotechnology, Agriculture and Biomedical Sciences); Energy Research; Water Technologies; Disaster Management; Space Sciences, Technology and Applications; Geospatial Information and Applied Chemistry.

Cabinet approved signing of MoU between India and Canada on collaboration among Chartered Accountant Institutions
On August 10, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved MoU between “Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI)” and “Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada)”.
- This MoU was signed in 2011.
- The areas of cooperation are: definition, learning, and evaluation of the professional qualities and skills and competencies of entry-level Chartered Accountants.
Background:
ICAI is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament of India, The Chartered Accountants Act, 1949′.

Cabinet approves MoU between India and Korea on Trade Remedy Cooperation
On August 10, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the MOU between India and Korea on Trade Remedy Cooperation.
- The MoU was signedin July 2018 during the State visit of President of Korea to India.
- The area of cooperation in trade remedies are: anti-dumping, subsidy and countervailing and safeguard measures.
Republic of Korea:

♦ Currency: South Korean won.
Cabinet approved joint issue of postage stamp between India and South Africa
On August 10, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the joint issue of Postage Stamps on India-South Africa .
- The Theme of the postage stamp will be : “20 Years of Strategic Partnership between India and South Africa”.
- The Joint Issue depicts image of Deendayal Upadhyaya and Oliver Reginald Tambo of South Africa. This is a part of the MOU signed in May 2018.
- The joint stamps were released in June 2018.
