C-DOT launches TRINETRA, cyber threat detection

On the occasion of the 40th Foundation day of Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT)(25th August 2023), Devusinh Chauhan, Minister of State(MoS), Ministry of Communication, launched C-DOT’s TRINETRA, an indigenously developed cyber threat detection and resolution system.

  • During the event, MoS Devusinh Chauhan also inaugurated the C-DOT’s Enterprise Security Operation Centre (ESOC) at C-DOT campus New Delhi, Delhi.
  • He also inaugurated the technical conference centered on “Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML)” organised by C-DOT.

Note:
C-DOT, was established on 24th August 1984 as an autonomous Telecom Research & Development(R&D) centre under the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications.

About TRINETRA:

i.It is a comprehensive security systems combining Security information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration and Automated Response (SOAR), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), User Entity and Behaviour Analytics (UEBA), Multi-Source Threat Intelligence and others.

  • The TRINETRA  solution provides 24×7 near real-time actionable cyber-security status and quickly deals with cyber-threats like viruses, malware, and spyware.

ii.It checks the computers, laptops, servers, and virtual machines in a company to make sure they’re safe from cyber-attacks.

  • If it detects any malwares, Trinetra analyses and mitigates any vulnerabilities and gives Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled automated responses.

Conference on “Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML)”:

The technical conference was organised as a part of C-DOT’s GB Meemamsi Lecture Series (workshops on newly emerging dimensions of Telecom & Information and communications technology (ICT)) .

The technical conference featured a diverse range of discussions on the emerging aspects of AI and ML.

What is a Security Operations Center (SOC)?

A Security Operations Center (SOC) comprises a group of cybersecurity experts committed to overseeing and evaluating an organization’s security status, while also taking action on current and  potential security breaches. The team is responsible for scanning all the security systems in real time.
