BSE joins hands with Telangana govt to help MSMEs raise equity fundsOn 19th October 2020, BSE (formerly known as Bombay Stock Exchange) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Telangana along with GlobalLinker to support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) of the state to raise equity funds.

Purpose of the Partnership:

This partnership will address the MSMEs challenges due to limited alternate sources of finance which increases their dependence on the debt capital that results in distorted capital structures and restrained cash flow.

Features of the MoU:

i.Under this MoU, BSE will support the MSMEs to address the challenges of access to finance and increase their credibility.

ii.BSE will provide intellectual and manpower support to raise awareness on the importance and benefits of listing.

iii.Under this partnership the MSMEs of Telangana will have access to the opportunities of equity financing which will support the businesses to grow from expansion to acquisition.

Background:

i.The government of Telangana partnered with GlobalLinker, an MSME enablement business in 2019 and launched “Telangana State GlobalLinker” a digital networking platform.

ii.This platform provides a digital profile to the MSMEs and access to global networking This also provides economies on a wide range of business services and access to industry news, articles and discussions.

Telangana State GlobalLinker:

Over this online portal, the state government offers various benefits like,

  • Free e-commerce store with payment gateway
  • Integrated Logistics capabilities 
  • Opportunities to connect with buyers and suppliers.
