Brand Finance India 100 Ranking 2025: Tata Group Retains Top Position with USD 31.6 B Brand Value

On 25 June 2025, London (United Kingdom, UK) based Brand Finance, an independent brand valuation consultancy, released the India 100 Ranking 2025, highlighting total brand value of India’s top 100 brands has surged to USD 236.5 billion, reflecting the strong growth of India’s corporate sector.

  • Tata Group retained its 1st rank, becoming the first Indian brand to surpass USD 30 billion, with a brand value of USD 31.6 billion, marking a 10% year-on-year (Y-o-Y) increase.
  • Infosys Limited came in 2nd place, with its brand value rising by 15% to USD 16.3 billion, keeping its top spot in the Information Technology(IT) Services sector. At the same time, HDFC Group ranked 3rd, growing 37% to USD 14.2 billion, strengthening its role as a major leader in financial services.
  • Taj Hotels, for the 4th consecutive year, holds the title of the strongest Indian brand with a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 92.2 out of 100 and AAA+ rating.

About the Report:

i.Brand Finance evaluated over 250 Indian brands across 11 sectors like manufacturing, Information Technology (IT), finance and hospitality, using the Royalty Relief Approach, which estimates potential licensing revenue of a brand in an open market.

ii.Brand Strength Index (BSI): Evaluates marketing investment, stakeholder equity, and business performance on a scale of 0–100.

iii.Sustainability Perceptions Index(SPeX): Compiled using insights from the Global Brand Equity Monitor (GBEM), it measures the gap between brand sustainability perception and actual performance.

Sustainability Perceptions Index(SPeX) 2025:

i.Tata Group topped the index with the highest Sustainability Perceptions Value (SPV) of USD 4.3 billion.

ii.Infosys Limited recorded the highest positive sustainability gap value of USD 115 million among Indian brands, indicating that its actual sustainability performance exceeds public perception.

Standout Performers in India Brand Value Analytics 2025:

i.Adani Group: Fastest-growing major brand with 82% brand value growth, driven by infrastructure and green energy expansion.

ii.Birla Opus (Aditya Birla Group): Disruptor in the decorative paints sector.

iii.Zomato: Debuted at 39th position with USD 1 billion in brand value.

iv.Persistent Systems: Posted 33% growth to USD 811 million, ranking 48th in IT services.

v.Birlasoft: Debuted with a brand value of USD 164 million.

vi.HMEL (HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited): Climbed to 49th rank with a value of USD 656 million, focusing on next-gen energy.

vii.Zetwerk: Ranked 2nd in engineering sector, highlighting India’s rising presence in Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM).
