On 16th April 2021, Birla Cellulose Limited, largest global man made cellulosic fibre producer, a part of the Aditya Birla Group won the first edition of National Innovative and Sustainable Supply Chain Award presented by the Global Compact Network India (GCNI), the Indian Local Network of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).
- Birla cellulose won the award for its innovation in recycled and circular fibre made with pre-consumer fabric waste.
- The case study – Liva Reviva by Birla Cellulose and Fully Traceable Circular Global Fashion Supply Chains, provided solutions to the challenges of textile waste through live supply chain transparency and traceability through the blockchain based platform GreenTrack.
About the National Innovative and Sustainable Supply Chain Award:
In January 2021, The National Innovative and Sustainable Supply Chain Award was launched by GCNI in partnership with Accenture (Knowledge Partner), ICCo (Sustainability Partner) and FM Logistic India (Presentation Partner).

On 17th February 2021, the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB), under the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India was selected as one of the winners of the 5th Asia Environmental Enforcement Award, 2020 by the United Nations Environment Programme(UNEP).
