Bharti Airtel, a Leading telecom services provider with global operations in around 19 countries across Asia and Africa has been ranked first in a listing of 100 emerging market multinational companies as part of a study on corporate transparency and reporting by Transparency International.
In the latest edition of Transparency in Corporate Reporting: Assessing Emerging Market Multinationals 100 of the fastest-growing companies based in 15 emerging market countries and operating in 185 countries around the world scored an average score of 3.4 out of 10.

Bharti Airtel topped the list with a score of 7.3.
It was followed by

♦ Mahindra & Mahindra
♦ Tata Consultancy Services
♦ Tata Global Beverages
♦ Tata Motors and Tata Steel.
- According to a global anti-graft watchdog’s survey, India has the most transparent companies while Chinese firms are the most opaque.
- The report covered 100 companies in 15 emerging market countries that also included Brazil, Mexico and Russia.
- Indian corporate firms are the most transparent while Chinese counterparts the most opaque, a global anti-graft watchdog said in a news report that assessed efforts of emerging companies to fight corruption.
- On the other hand, nine companies (eight from China and one from Mexico) were awarded the lowest possible score of 0 per cent. Fifty-four out of 100 companies scored above average (50 per cent or more).
