On April 2, 2024, Forbes released its 38th annual World’s Billionaires list – ‘Forbes World’s Billionaires List: The Richest in 2024‘ in partnership with J.P. Morgan Bank. Bernard Arnault (France), Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH ) topped the list with a net worth of USD 233 Billion.
- He is followed by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors with a net worth of USD 195 Billion and Jeff Bezos, founder & Former CEO of Amazon with USD 194 Billion at 3rd place.
Mukesh Ambani, Chairman And Managing Director(CMD) of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), ranked 9th globally with a net worth of USD 116 Billion, becomes the richest man in India. He is the only Indian to feature among the top 10.
- He also became the first Asian to break into the USD 100 billion club.

ii.Gautam Adani became the 2nd richest Indian with a net worth of USD 84 billion followed by Shiv Nadar as 3rd richest with a net worth of USD 36.9 billion.
iii.Savitri Jindal remains India’s richest woman, rising to the fourth position from sixth.
iv.25 new Indian billionaires made debut in the list, this includes notable figures like Renuka Jagtiani (chairperson and CEO of Landmark Group), Ramesh Kunhikannan (founder and managing director of Kaynes Technology), Kabir Mulchandani (proprietor of FIVE Holdings), Ramesh Jaisinghani (Polycab India), Onkar Kanwar (chairman of Apollo Tyres).

i.There are 2,781 billionaires across the globe in 2024, up by 141 from 2023, with an aggregate worth of USD 14.2 trillion, a USD 2 trillion increase from 2023.
ii.The USA tops the list of countries with the most number of billionaires with 813, with a total net worth of USD 5.7 trillion.
- The USA is followed by China with 473 billionaires worth USD 1.7 trillion; and India with 200 billionaires worth USD 954 billion
iii.14 individuals are part of the USD 100 Billion Club, holding USD 2 trillion collectively, representing 0.5% of all billionaires but holding 14% of total billionaire wealth.
iv.Taylor Swift, American songwriter and singer, has joined the billionaire list with a net worth of USD 1.1 billion. She was ranked 2545 globally.
