As the tenure of Bihar governor Dr DY Patil getting completed on November 26, West Bengal governor Keshari Nath Tripathi will hold the additional charge of Bihar.
Mr. Patil will hold the charge until regular arrangements for the office of the Governor of Bihar is made. Mr. Tripathi was sworn in as the Governor of West Bengal in July.
In the Constitution of India, Articles 153 to 162 relates to appointment, term, powers and functions, qualifications etc of the Governor.
The 7th Constitutional Amendment Act 1956 facilitated the appointment of same person as governor for two or more states.
