On December 16,2018, Belgium defeated Netherland in Shoot Out Match and won their First Men’s Hockey World Cup Championship,which is 14th edition of the Hockey World Cup.This is the third time India is hosting the Men’s Hockey world Cup and First time it is held in Bhubaneswar,Odisha.The Championship is held from 28th November 2018.It is organized by International Hockey Federation(FIH).
Official Mascot: Turtle ‘Olly’ is the official Mascot of the 2018 Men’s Hockey World Cup Championship.
Winners of the Championship:
Belgium won the tournament for the first time after defeating the Netherlands 3–2 in the final on a penalty shoot-out after a 0–0 draw.Australia won the third place by defeating England 8–1.

Tata Steel was named as the official partner of FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2018.India is hosting for the third time in Odisha after hosting in Mumbai(1982) and in New Delhi(2010).
App and Bicycle:
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched a public bicycle sharing project and a mobile app named ‘Mo Cycle’ ahead of the Men’s Hockey World Cup.Riders can take the Mo Cycle from any location, and drop off at any destination of their choice.
Indian Performance:
India was placed at sixth place in the Hockey World Cup 2018 after losing to Netherland in the QuarterFinal Match.Midfielder Manpreet Singh lead the Indian team and Chinglensana Singh Kangujam was his deputy.
