On April 13, 2021, Bayer, a German life sciences company, signed a Statement of Intent (SoI) for a strategic partnership with Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog to foster Innovation & Entrepreneurship across healthcare & agriculture sectors.
- The SoI also includes the promotion of science education, advancing digital solutions & agri-tech to strengthen supply chains, and healthcare projects.
- Bayer will support the current & future programs of AIM in agriculture and healthcare sectors.
- It is 1st of a kind collaboration in sectors of agriculture & healthcare between AIM & Bayer.
Key Points
i.Under AIM’s Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) program, Bayer will explore opportunities to mentor school children & inculcate design thinking, problem solving, adaptive learning skills amongst them. It will also support and adopt mutually agreed schools.
ii.As part of AIM’s ‘Atal Incubation Centres (AIC)’ & ‘Atal Community Innovation Centres’ programmes, Bayer will mentor young innovators and startups and collaborate with them to further the cause of innovation.
- It will also explore association with techno-preneurs from Niti Aayog’s ANIC-ARISE (Atal New India Challenges in Applied Research and Innovation for medium and Small Enterprises) programs in the area of digital solutions in agriculture and healthcare sectors.
