On 3rd February 2021, the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) signed a statement of intent (SOI) with Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) the flagship initiative of Niti Aayog to boost the start-up ecosystem in the mobility sector.
Objective:
The objective of the partnership includes, to create mobility, electric mobility, transportation, sustainable development goats and digital infrastructure in cities and villages across India.
Scope of the partnership:
ARAI and AIM will collaborate under the Atal New India Challenge(ANIC) for the development of the technologies which were identified as the challenges or problem statements by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
Features of SOI:
i.The ARAI will utilise its TechNovuus platform and lend its experience, expertise and equipment to support the start-ups of the mobility sector.
ii.The startups will be incubated under AIM and the startups associated with other AIM programmes will be supported in transforming their ideas into reality.
iii.The usability and the commercial feasibility of the ideas will be given special attention.
iv.The association between ARAI and AIM will help startups in industry connect, B2B innovations, technical guidance and hand holding for technology realisation.
v.The start ups connect with the platform in its first phase till 15th February 2021.
Benefits:
i.ARAI and AIM will work to support technologies with social benefits like road safety, mobility and automotive components among others.
ii.This will generate a collection of good practices in development and deployment of ANIC in mobility and automotive components.
