Our government is all set to proffer banking services in every village with the succor of technology and the network of Common Services Centres (CSCs).

- The announcement has been made during the conference of women village level entrepreneurs (VLEs) under CSCs in New Delhi by IT minister.
Through CSCs, VLEs earned commissions of Rs. 438 crore on e-services viz. pancards, passport and rail ticketing.
- Department of Telecom (DoT) has been instructed that CSCs should get connectivity on priority basis under Bharat Net Programme which aims to connect all the gram panchayats.
How VLEs playing important role in startup revolution?
While CSCs play dignitary role as an intermediate between government and the beneficiaries which enable in corruption reduction and delays, on the other hand, VLEs have a key role in PM Narendra Modi’s dream project of startup revolution in India.
- Women VLEs have made a promising contribution to the success of e-governance services and digital empowerment schemes among the poor and marginalised communities through CSCs.
- In this regard, VLEs, which helps in making entire gram panchayat digitally literate, will be sent to Singapore and Silicon Valley to showcase how India is changing.
To boost up enthusiasm of village level entrepreneurs, government is acting as a catalyst by providing incentivise schemes i.e. 3 best performing entrepreneurs would be rewarded Rs. 2 lakh, Rs. 1 lakh and Rs 50,000 each.
