Administrative Professionals Day, also known as Secretaries Day or Admin Day, is annually observed across the globe on the Wednesday of the last full week in April to recognize the work of secretaries, administrative assistants, receptionists, executive assistants, personal assistants, and other administrative support professionals.

- Administrative Professionals Day 2024 will be observed on 24th April 2024.
The observance of Administrative Professionals Day is led by the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), a non-profit professional association serving the administrative profession.

The Administrative Professionals Day coincides with Administrative Professionals Week, a week dedicated to the people working within an administration.
- Administrative Professionals Week is celebrated annually every last full week in April.
- The Administrative Professionals Week 2023 is observed from 23rd April to 29th April 2023.
History of the observance:
i.The origin of the observance of Administrative Professionals Day/Week dates back to 1952 when the U.S. Secretary of Commerce Charles Sawyer proclaimed the first observance of National Secretaries Week as June 1-7, 1952 and June 4, 1952, as the first National Secretaries Day.
ii.In 1955, the National Secretaries Association changed the dates to the current celebration during the last full week of April.
iii.In 1981, the name of the observance was changed to Professional Secretaries Day/Week when the National Secretaries Association became Professional Secretaries International (PSI).
iv.In 1998, PSI changed the organization’s name to the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) and in 2000, the observance was again renamed as Administrative Professionals Day/Week.
- The name change of the observance reflects the changing job titles and expanding responsibilities of the administrative workforce.
