- The AAI comes directly under the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
- AAIÂ manages 11 International Airports, 81 Domestic Airports, 8 Customs Airports, and 25 Civil enclaves at Military Airfields.
- RK Srivatsava is the present Chairman of the AAI.
- Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pasupathi is the present Union Minister of Civil Aviation
