Chief Minister launched the Bihar Public Grievance Redressal Act enabling people to get their grievances redressed within a specific time period in the State.

Points delivered by Chief Minister:

  • If the grievance cannot be redressed, then the complainant will get a letter quoting reasons for not getting the grievance redressed
  • The complainant can file an appeal if he/she is not satisfied with the answer
  • He wasconfident that the Act will be fully successful in the state
  • It will be implemented in the whole of country once it is successful in Bihar

  • Inauguration of 139 Public Grievances Redressal Officer’s Offices
  • Grievance receiving Centres in Various and Sub-Divisions

All these Public Grievances Redressal Officers have been given plentyof powers to get the people’s grievances redressed

Current Performance:

  • Since April 2006, 2,77,249 applications were received in his 241 Janata Darbar meetings and 2,33,260 applications were disposed off.
  • He was conducting the JanataDarbar Meetings for Ten years and he stated that People got the opportunity to be heard at Police stations, Block, Districts and State Headquarters
  • There was no guarantee of their grievances being redressed
  • Most of the grievances remained unresolved and that used to troublehis mind
