Nepal Government named Nepali Congress leader Deep Kumar Upadhyay as Nepal’s new ambassador to India. This post has been lying vacant for more than three years. Rukma Shukshere Rana, Nepali Congress leader, held this post lastly in August 2011. Deep Kumar Upadhyay hails from Kapilvastu district in southern Nepal.
