The National Science Day has been observed on Feb 28 every year to commemorate the discovery of the “Raman Effect”, a Nobel Prize winning discovery by Sir C.V Raman. This year, it was celebrated on March 1, 2016 in New Delhi by the National Council for Science & Technology Communication Division (NCSTC) of the Department of Science & Technology, GOI.
Theme of NSD-2016 : “Make in India: S&T Driven Innovations”
- Noted Scientist Pallava Bagla was conferred with the national award for “Outstanding Efforts in the Field of Science and Technology Communication on Electronic Medium”, carrying a citation, memento and Rs. 1 Lakh. It was presented by Union Minister of Science and Technology, Harsh Vardhan during the function.
