On October 31, 2025, the International Chess Federation (FIDE), All India Chess Federation (AICF), and (Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Hotel Rio Resort, Goa, for 2025–2026 to promote chess as a tool for education, social inclusion, and personal development in India, Asia, and globally.

Candidates Tournament 2026: The 2026 FIDE Candidates Tournament, scheduled to take place in Pegeia near Paphos, Cyprus from March 28 to April 16, will feature three qualifiers from the FIDE World Cup 2025: Javokhir Sindarov, Wei Yi, and Andrey Esipenko.
Rapid & Blitz 2025: The 2025 FIDE Rapid and Blitz Championships will be held in Doha, Qatar from December 26 to 30, 2025.
