Cabinet Approves Rs.7,280 Crore Scheme to Promote Manufacturing of Sintered REPMIn November 2025, the Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi approved the ‘Scheme to Promote Manufacturing of Sintered Rare Earth Permanent Magnets(REPM)’ with a financial outlay of  Rs 7,280 crores (cr). 
About REPM Manufacturing Scheme:
Production Capacity: The scheme aims to establish 6,000 Metric Tons per Annum (MTPA) of integrated REPM manufacturing in India, covering the full value chain from rare earth oxides to metals, metals to alloys, and alloys to finished REPMs.
Implementation: This scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI).
Participation: Both public and private sector companies are eligible to take part.
Financial Outlay: The total financial outlay of the scheme is Rs 7280 cr, comprising a sales-linked incentives of Rs 6450 cr on REPM sales for five (5) years.

  • The scheme provides a capital subsidy of Rs 750 cr for setting up an aggregate of 6,000 MTPA of REPM manufacturing facilities.

Scheme Duration: The total duration of the scheme will be 7 years from the date of award.

Cabinet Approves Pune Metro Phase-2, 224-km Railway Multitracking ProjectsOn November 26, 2025, the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi approved the following proposals:
Pune Metro Rail Project:
Overview: The Pune Metro Phase-2 project for Lines 4 and 4A spans 31.636 km and includes 28 fully elevated stations to be completed within five years at an estimated cost of Rs.9,857.85 crores.

  • This marks the second major project approved under Phase-2, following the sanction of Line 2A (Vanaz-Chandani Chowk) and Line 2B (Ramwadi-Wagholi/Vitthalwadi).

Funding: It is jointly funded by the Government of India(GoI), Government of Maharashtra and external bilateral and multilateral agencies. It will be implemented by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha Metro).
CCEA approved two Multitracking Railway projects:
Overview: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by the PM Narendra Modi, approved the 224 Km multitracking projects, encompassing 141 km- doubling of Devbhumi Dwarka (Okha) – Kanalus track (Gujarat) and the addition of 3rd and 4th line to the 32 km-Badlapur-Karjat in Maharashtra.
Budget: The projects, with a budget outlay of Rs. 2,781 crores, will increase line capacity, improve operational efficiency, and enhance service reliability for Indian Railways (IR).

MoA&FW released first advanced estimates of kharif crop production for 2025-26In November 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and Family Welfare (MoA&FW) released the first advanced estimates of kharif crop production for 2025-26, recording an increase in total food grain production by 3.87 million tonnes (MT).
Key Highlights
Food grain Production: As per the first advanced estimates of food grains production, the production is expected to rise by 3.87 MT to 173.33 MT.
Kharif Production: India’s rice production during the 2025-26 kharif season that ended in October 2025 reached a record 124.504 MT, which is 1.732 MT more than the production of Kharif rice the previous year.

  • The kharif maize production is estimated at 28.303 MT, up 3.495 MT from the previous kharif season.
  • The first advance estimates project Kharif coarse cereals production at 41.414 MT.

Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan & Annapurna Devi Launch ‘Nayi Chetna 4.0’ CampaignOn November 25, 2025, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoAFW), Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), and Union Minister Annapurna Devi, Ministry of Women & Child Development (MoWCD), launched the fourth edition of the Nayi Chetna-Initiative for Change”, a nationwide campaign, in New Delhi, Delhi.

  • The campaign focuses on gender equality and empowering women, especially in rural areas.

Nayi Chetna Campaign 4.0:
Organizer: The campaign is organized under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM), under MoRD, and will run in all 36 States and Union Territories (UTs) till December 23, 2025.

  • The campaign is led by Self Help Groups (SHGs) across the villages.

Aim: The initiative aims to promote respect, safety, and self-reliance for women, raise awareness against gender-based violence, encourage safe mobility for women, recognize women’s economic contributions, and promote shared responsibilities in families.
Empowerment: The initiative is aimed at promoting SHG enterprises, Credit access, Skill development, and “Lakhpati Didi” model to increase women’s income.
About Lakhpati Didi: It is an initiative by the Government of India (GOI) under the DAY-NRLM to help rural women earn at least Rs.1 lakh per year by strengthening their livelihoods and improving income opportunities.

Funding & Tenure: The second initiative, Maharashtra Project on Climate Resilient Agriculture (POCRA) Phase II, is funded with USD 490 million, featuring a 24-year maturity and a 6-year grace period, to promote climate-resilient and technology-driven agriculture in the state.
Objective: Strengthen agricultural productivity and climate resilience through adoption of precision-farming digital technologies.
Key Components: The project aims to improve soil health, nutrient and water management, use digital tools like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and remote sensing, promote precision farming, and increase smallholder farmers’ income by 30%.
Beneficiaries: The project will benefit over 20 lakh small and marginal farmers across 21 districts, including 2.9 lakh women farmers.
Background: POCRA, or ‘Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjivani’, was launched in collaboration between the Maharashtra government and the World Bank as a six-year (2018–2024) project costing Rs 4,000 crore, with Phase 1 implemented in 5,220 villages across 16 districts in Maharashtra.

BHIM Launches ‘Full Delegation’ Feature for UPI Circle to Boost User Engagement
On November 25, 2025, Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM), an application developed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), launched a “Full Delegation” feature under Unified Payments Interface (UPI) circle, with an aim to attract new users to the application.

  • The delegated users can pay without needing the Personal Identification Number (PIN) of the primary user, while all the transactions remain visible to the primary user.

Delegation Validity:The delegation period can be set by the primary user, ranging from 1 month up to 5 years.

PPSL Secures RBI Approval to Operate as Payment AggregatorOn 26 November 2025, Paytm Payments Services Limited (PPSL), a subsidiary of One97 Communications, received the Certificate of Authorisation (COA) from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to operate as a Payment Aggregator(PA) under the Payment and Settlement Systems Act(PSSA), 2007.

CCI Approvals on November 25, 2025On 25 November 2025, the Competition Commission of India (CCI), under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), approved three major acquisition proposals across the financial services, power generation, and industrial manufacturing sectors, reflecting an active phase of corporate consolidation in India.

Acquisition of Toyota Industries Corporation by Toyota Asset Preparatory: The CCI approved the acquisition of 100% shareholding of Toyota Industries Corporation (TIC) (Target) by Toyota Asset Preparatory Co., Ltd. (Acquirer) as part of the Toyota Group’s corporate restructuring and consolidation, with the Acquirer eventually held around 99% by Toyota Fudosan Co., Ltd. (TFC).
Acquisition of Jhajjar Power  by Jindal Jhajjar Power :The CCI approved 100% acquisition of Jhajjar Power Limited (Target) by Jindal Jhajjar Power Limited (Acquirer).

  • Jindal Jhajjar Power Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jindal Power Limited (JPL), which is engaged in power generation, including thermal power.

Acquisition of Certain Businesses of ICICI Venture Funds Management by ICICI Prudential Asset Management: The CCI approved the acquisition of select businesses of ICICI Venture Funds Management Company Limited (Seller) by ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company (AMC) Limited (Acquirer).

  • The move is part of a larger decision made by both companies’ boards in May 2025 to transfer ICICI Venture’s private equity, real-estate, and fund-management businesses to ICICI Prudential AMC, bringing these operations under one consolidated entity.

Paras Defence Signs ToT Agreement with DRDO for DNS System
In November 2025, Paras Defence & Space Technologies Limited (Paras Defence) signed a Technology Transfer (ToT) agreement with Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Ministry of Defence (MoD), for manufacturing the Driver Night Sight (DNS) system used in T-90 tanks.

CGF Approves to Host 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad, Gujarat
On November 26, 2025, the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) General Assembly approved a proposal to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, defeating Abuja (Nigeria) in the bid in Glasgow, Scotland.

  • This marks the second time, earlier, India hosted the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, Delhi.
  • The 2030 edition marks the 100th year of the Commonwealth games, first held in Hamilton, Canada in 1930.

Asian Paints Inks 3-Year Partnership with BCCI as Official Colour Partner

She was born on 16 June,1934 in Mayuram (Present Mayiladuthurai), Madras Presidency (Present Tamil Nadu (TN).

Awards: In 1970, she was conferred with the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award, for her contribution in the field of arts. She also received Kalaimamani in 1967 from the TN government and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (1968).

Declaration: The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJ&E) announced in 2015 that 26th November would be observed annually as Constitution Day to promote constitutional values among citizens.
Inception: The first Constitution Day was officially observed on 26th November 2015.
2025 Event:
Event: On 26th November 2025, the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, along with Vice-President Chandrapuram Ponnusami (C. P.) Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi commemorated National Constitution Day 2025 at the Central Hall of Parliament House, Samvidhan Sadan, New Delhi, Delhi.
Regional Constitution: The Legislative Department (LD), Ministry of Law and Justice (MoL&J), digitally released the Constitution in nine regional languages: Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Punjabi, Bodo, Kashmiri, Telugu, Odia, and Assamese.
Booklet: The Ministry of Culture released a commemorative booklet titled “Bharat ke Samvidhan se Kala aur Calligraphy”, highlighting the art and calligraphy of the original handwritten Constitution.
International Tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar:
On 26th November 2025, a bronze bust of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was unveiled at United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Headquarters in Paris, France, by the Permanent Delegation of India to UNESCO.

National Milk Day 2025 – November 26National Milk Day is observed every year on 26 November across India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien, widely known as the “Father of the White Revolution in India” and “Milkman of India”.
Background
Origin: National Milk Day was instituted in 2014 through a joint initiative of the Indian Dairy Association (IDA), the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), and 22 State-Level Milk Federations.
First Observance: The first National Milk Day was celebrated on 26 November 2014.
Nodal Ministry: The annual observance is coordinated by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying(DoAHD) under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying (MoFAH&D).

Celebration: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying(MoFAH&D), celebrated National Milk Day 2025 on 26 November 2025 at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi.
Participants: The event was attended by Union Minister of State(MoS) Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel and Union MoS George Kurian, MoFAH&D along with Naresh Pal Gangwar, Secretary, DAHD, and other senior officials.
Launches: During the event, the Guidelines for Minimum Standards of Veterinary Infrastructure in India and the Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics (BAHS) 2025 were launched.
National Gopal Ratna Awards 2025:Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh), MoFAH&D, conferred the National Gopal Ratna Awards 2025, one of India’s highest civilian honours in the livestock and dairy sector.
