On November 1, 2025, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi visited Chhattisgarh to mark the 25th Foundation Day (Silver Jubilee) of the state, which was formed on 1 November 2000.
- During his visit, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for multiple development and transformational projects worth over Rs.14,260 crore across key sectors including roads, industry, healthcare, and energy.

Highlights of PM Narendra Modi’s Visit to Chhattisgarh:
Celebration: PM Narendra Modi attended the Rajyotsava 2025 cultural programme in Nava Raipur to celebrate Chhattisgarh’s Statehood Day, showcasing the state’s rich tribal heritage through traditional music, dance, and crafts.
- The event was attended by Vishnu Deo Sai, Chief Minister(CM) of Chhattisgarh; Ramen Deka, Governor of Chhattisgarh and other dignitaries.
Inauguration of Assembly Building: During the visit,he inaugurated the newly constructed Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly building, also known as Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha in Nava Raipur, spanning over 51 acres with the budget outlay of Rs.324 crores.
- The building has been designed with green features such as solar roofing and rainwater harvesting, reflecting sustainable architecture.
- He also unveiled the statues of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee within the Assembly complex in Nava Raipur.
Development Projects:
Roadway sector: During the visit, PM Narendra Modi Laid the foundation stone for a four-lane greenfield highway between Pathalgaon-Kunkuri (Jashpur, Chhattisgarh) and the Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand border under the Bharatmala Pariyojana, with an investment of Rs.3,150 crores at an event in Nava Raipur.
- He also launched several road projects aimed at improving connectivity between tribal areas and industrial areas, including upgradation of National Highway (NH) 130D from Narayanpur to the Maharashtra border.
Energy & Petroleum: Dedicated the Nagpur-Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline, spanning over 489 Kilometres (Km) with an investment of Rs.1,950 crores, which will connect 11 districts of Chhattisgarh to India’s national gas grid.
- He also inaugurated a new petroleum oil depot of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) at Raipur (Chhattisgarh), built at a cost of over Rs.460 crores, with a storage capacity of 54,000 kilolitres(kl) including 10,000 kl for ethanol.
Power sector: He also launched several projects under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) worth Rs.1,860 crores and inaugurated nine new electricity substations across several districts, with a total budget of Rs.480 crores, aimed at strengthening power supply network, especially in rural and tribal regions.
Industrial sector: He laid the foundation stone for two Smart Industrial Areas at Siladehi-Gatwa-Birra in Janjgir-Champa district and at Bijletala in Rajnandgaon, aimed at promoting small-scale manufacturing and attract investment.
Healthcare: Announced the establishment of new government medical colleges in Manendragarh, Kabirdham, Janjgir-Champa, and Geedam (Dantewada), along with Ayurveda College and Hospital in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.
- He laid the foundation stone for a pharmaceutical park at Nava Raipur Atal Nagar in Raipur, spanning 141.84 acres.
Housing: Launched 12 new blocks under the Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) across nine districts, aimed at promoting self-employment and rural enterprise development.
- Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), 3.51 lakh houses were handed over to beneficiaries and Rs.1,200 crores were released to more than 3 lakh beneficiaries for new homes.
Hospital Visit: PM Narendra Modi visited Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Nava Raipur and participated in the “Dil Ki Baat” programme.
