As per the report, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), has reclaimed the top spot as India’s Richest Man with a net worth of Rs 9.55 lakh crore, replacing Gautam Adani and family, who dropped from 1st spot (in 2024)to 2nd spot in 2025 rankings with a wealth of Rs 8.147 lakh crore.

Wealth Overview 2025: This year’s M3M Hurun India Rich List features 1,687 individuals with a net worth of Rs.1,000 crore or more, marking an increase of 148 compared to 2024 and 859 over the past five years.
Wealth Trends: The report highlights that 1,004 individuals saw their wealth increase or remain stable, including 284 new entrants, while 643 experienced declines and 139 dropped off from this year’s list.
Billionaire Count: India now has 358 billionaires, six times more than when the list was first published 13 years ago.
Combined Wealth: The combined wealth of Indians featured on the list is Rs 167 lakh crore (marking an annual increase of 5%), which is equivalent to nearly 50% of India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
- The Top 10 billionaires control 27% of total wealth, with Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani contributing 12%.
Self-Made Entrepreneurs: A total of 1,115 entrepreneurs (accounting 66% of 2025 list) are self-made, increase from 1,008 entrepreneurs (in 2024) and 55% (5 years ago).
Billionaire Hub: As per the hurun’s latest report, Mumbai(Maharashtra) continues to be billionaire hub in India with 451 billionaires; followed by New Delhi(Delhi) (223 billionaires) and Bengaluru(Karnataka) (116 billionaires).
Most Represented Sectors: The report showed that Pharmaceuticals sector continues to dominate as the most represented sector, with 137 individuals featured in the list; followed by industrial products (132) and chemicals & petrochemicals (125).
- Among new entrants, Jewellery sector tops with 25 new billionaires; followed by construction & engineering (24); real estate (23), industrial products (21); and food & beverages and financial services (20 each).

- He is followed by Indian Actor Juhi Chawla who is also the co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), ranked at 2nd spot among Bollywood’s wealthiest with net worth of Rs 7,790 crore; and Hrithik Roshan, Indian Actor and Owner of fitness & lifestyle brand HRX, ranked at 3rd spot with total wealth of Rs 2,160 crore.
Biggest Gainers: Niraj Bajaj & family of Bajaj group witnessed staggering increase in its wealth, adding Rs 69,875 crore (+43%),taking total wealth to Rs 2.33 lakh crore.
- While, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, founder of Paytm, has once again claimed the billionaire status with net worth of Rs 15,930 crore, driven by a 124% increase in Paytm’s share price.
India’s Youngest Billionaire: As per the latest report, Aravind Srinivas (31 year old), founder of Artificial Intelligence (AI) startup, Perplexity, has emerged as India’s youngest billionaire on the list with a net worth of Rs 21,900 crore.
Top Richest Indian Professional Managers: Jayshree Ullal, Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Arista Networks, tops with a net worth of Rs.50,170 crore, reflecting significant value creation in global tech. She is followed by Satya Nadella (Microsoft) at Rs.9,770 crore and Nikesh Arora (Palo Alto Networks) at Rs.9,190 crore.

Richest Women in India: This year’s list featured 101 women, including 26 dollar billionaires.
Youngest Self-Made Woman: Dr. Garima Sawhney (39 year old), co-founder of Pristyn Care, emerged as the youngest self-made woman entrepreneur on the list.
Youngest Debutant: 22 year-old Kaivalya Vohra, co-founder of Zepto, named as the youngest entrant on the list, with his partner Aadit Palicha (23 year old) following close behind.
