Mahi Banswara Atomic Power Plant:
Overview: Inaugurated the Mahi Banswara Rajasthan Atomic Power Project (MBRAPP) worth Rs.42,000 crores at Napla village in Banswara, equipped with an installed capacity of 2,800 Megawatt (MW), consisting of four units of 700 MW each.
Developers: The project was developed by Anushakti Vidhyut Nigam Limited (ASHVINI), a Joint Venture (JV) between Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).
Operation: The plant will utilize Indigenous Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (IPHWR-700) technology, in alignment with Government of India (GOI)’s “fleet mode” initiative, and Mahi Bajaj Sagar Dam on the Mahi River (Banswara) as its cooling source.
- The first unit is targeted for commercial operation by May 2032.
Fleet Mode: It refers to a strategy where ten identical nuclear reactors are built across India using a standardized design, procurement, and construction plan.
Renewable Energy Projects:
He inaugurated and laid foundation stone of Renewable Energy (RE) projects worth over Rs.19,210 crores in Rajasthan.
Shri Dungargarh Solar Project: Inaugurated Shri Dungargarh Solar Project, spanning 777 acres, with a capacity of 700 MW in Bikaner (Rajasthan), with an aim to supply cleaner and more affordable electricity to distribution companies in Rajasthan.
Battery Storage Project: Virtually laid the foundation stone for Avaada Group’s 1,560-Megawatt Peak (MWp) + 2,500-Megawatt hour (MWh) battery storage project in Pugal (Bikaner), spanning 4,000 acres, with an aim to deliver green power by integrating solar generation with battery storage, enhancing grid stability and energy security.
Other Projects: Inaugurated solar projects at various places such as Phalodi, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Sikar in Rajasthan. Virtually laid foundation stone for a Solar Park at Ramagiri in Andhra Pradesh (AP).
Power Transmission Projects:
He laid foundation stone for three major power transmission projects worth over Rs.13,180 crores under the Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) initiative of GOI.
RE Transmission projects: Laid foundation stone for the construction of a 765 Kilovolt (KV) transmission line from Beawar (Rajasthan) to Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh, MP) and a 765 KV transmission line, connecting Sirohi (Rajasthan) to Mandsaur and Khandwa (MP).
- Two transmission lines of 765 KV and 400 KV will be built from Bikaner to Siwani (Haryana) and Fatehabad (Haryana) and then extended to Patran (Punjab).
Grid Substations: Laid foundation stone for three Grid Substations (GSS) worth over Rs.490 crores, including Jaisalmer GSS with a capacity of 220 Kilovolt (KV), Bikaner GSS (220 KV), and Barmer GSS (220 KV).
Agriculture:
Overview: Virtually inaugurated Feeder Level Solarization (FLS) projects, with a total capacity of 3,517 MW, valued at over Rs.16,050 crores, across Rajasthan, Maharashtra, MP, and Karnataka.
PM-KUSUM projects: The projects fall under the Component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM), which aims to promote decentralized RE use in the agricultural sector.
Feeders: The agricultural feeders are being solarized to ensure affordable, reliable, and sustainable irrigation power benefiting lakhs of farmers through lowered electricity costs, reduced irrigation expenses, and promoting rural energy self-reliance.
Water Projects:
PM Modi laid foundation stone and inaugurated multiple water resource projects worth over Rs.26,710 crores.
Irrigation Projects: Laid foundation stone for projects worth Rs.20,830 crores, including construction of various feeders from Isarda, construction of Mor Sagar artificial reservoir in Ajmer (Rajasthan) and its feeder from Chittorgarh (Rajasthan), as part of the Ramjal Setu Link Project.
- Other projects include intake pump house at Bisalpur Dam, rejuvenation of Khari feeder and various other feeder canal works. He also inaugurated Isarda Dam, Dholpur Lift Project, and Takli Project.
Drinking Water Initiatives: Laid foundation for projects worth Rs.5,880 crores under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT 2.0), aligned with the vision of safe and clean drinking water for all.
- The projects will benefit districts, including Banswara, Dungarpur, Udaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Churu, Ajmer, Bhilwara, and others.
Road Infrastructure: Laid foundation stone for projects worth Rs.2,630 crores, including flyovers in Bharatpur, a bridge over the Banas River, and 116 Atal Pragati Path projects.
- Inaugurated multiple National and State Highway projects in Barmer, Ajmer, Dungarpur, and other districts, with an aim to improve road connectivity, traffic flow, and safety.
Other Infrastructure Projects: Inaugurated the newly constructed RBM hospital with a capacity of 250 beds in Bharatpur, built at a cost of Rs.128 crores; Information Technology (IT) Development and Electronic (E)-Governance Centre, with a budget outlay of Rs.140 crores in Jaipur (Rajasthan).
- Inaugurated the Sewerage system in Makrana (Rajasthan), which includes treatment plants and pumping stations; and Sewerage and Water Supply Projects in Mandawa and Jhunjhunu, aimed at improving sanitation and water management.
Railways: PM Modi virtually flagged off three trains, including Vande Bharat Express from Bikaner to Delhi Cantonment (Delhi Cantt) (Delhi), and from Jodhpur (Rajasthan) to Delhi Cantt, and an express train between Udaipur (Rajasthan) and Chandigarh.
Appointment Letters: PM Modi distributed over 15,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youths in Rajasthan.
