Highlights of TN CM Stalin’s Visit to Germany:
Visit: TN CM M.K. Stalin visited Germany from August 31 to September 3, 2025, as part of his European tour to attract state investments.
Welcome: On August 31 2025, TN CM Stalin arrived at Dusseldorf International Airport in Dusseldorf, Germany, where he was received by Anja de Werth, Protocol Division, Consular Affairs, State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW); and Abhishek Dubey, India’s Ambassador to Germany.
Conclave: During the visit, he attended the ‘TN Rising Germany Investment Conclave’ held in Düsseldorf on September 2, 2025, as part of his European tour.
MoUs Signed : A total of 26 MoUs were signed during the visit, including 23 at the conclave, valued at Rs.7,020 crore and expected to create more than 15,000 jobs in renewable energy, automotive, industrial equipment, R&D, and skill development.
Investments by German Firms:TN Government signed several key MoUs with German firms, attracting an overall investment of more than Rs 3,200 crore that have potential to generate nearly 6,000 new jobs in the state.
- Knorr-Bremse, a global leader in braking systems, announced the plans to invest Rs.2,000 crore in TN to establish its first major manufacturing facility in the state, focusing on railway doors and braking systems.
- Germany’s Nordex Group, one of the world’s top wind turbine manufacturers, has announced to expand its operations in TN with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore.
- In addition to that, ebm-papst, a global leader in energy efficient electric motors and air movement solutions, proposed to invest Rs.201 crore over five years to expand its Global Capability Centre (GCC) and manufacturing base in TN, creating 250 jobs in Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC), automotive, and industrial sectors.

Visit: TN CM M.K. Stalin’s visit to the United Kingdom(UK) from September 4 to 7, 2025, as part of his TN Rising European tour, focused on strengthening economic ties and cultural diplomacy.
Unveiled Portrait of Periyar: On September 4, 2025, he unveiled a portrait of social reformer ‘Periyar’ E.V. Ramaswamy at Oxford University(the UK), marking the 100th anniversary of his Self-Respect Movement for social equality in TN.
Book Release: He also released two books on ‘Periyar’, the 1st book is ‘The Cambridge Companion to Periyar’, edited by A.R. Venkatachalapathy and Karthick Ram Manoharan and published by the Cambridge University Press.
- While, the name of the 2nd book is ‘The Dravidian Pathway’, authored by Dr. K.R. Venkatesh.
MoUs Signed: During his visit to London (UK), TN CM Stalin signed 6 MoUs worth investment of Rs 820 crores with various companies across sectors like: defence and aerospace, shipbuilding, Renewable Energy (RE) and textile technology.
- Lloyd’s List Intelligence, a leading provider of vessel tracking, maritime risk analytics and insurance data, has signed a MoU to expand its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Chennai, TN.
- TN signed an MoU with UK’s Britannia RFID Technologies India for a Rs.520 crore investment to set up a high-capacity Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag manufacturing unit in Tirupur and Namakkal of TN.
- Rolls-Royce has agreed for major expansion plans for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO), Research & Development (R&D) and expansion of International Aerospace Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd. (IAMPL) in Hosur (TN).
- The Government of TN has signed a MoU with Wilson Power worth Rs 300 crore, to establish a transformer unit for RE in TN.
- Ecole Intuit Lab, in collaboration with Sakhti Excellence Academy, will establish a design school in Coimbatore, TN.
- Also, the University of Exeter will work with the state government to foster research, faculty exchange and knowledge partnerships.
Investment Commitments by UK Firms: UK’s Hinduja Group has signed a MoU with the TN government, pledged an investment of Rs 75,00 crore for the manufacturing of cell and battery used in Electric Vehicles (EVs), Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), and EV charging stations.
- AstraZeneca, a global pharmaceutical company, has announced its 3rd strategic investment in TN i.e. an investment of Rs 176 crore for the expansion of its Global Innovation & Technology Centre (GITC) in Chennai, TN.
