On September 8, 2025, the Ministry of Labour & Employment (MoL&E) signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Mentor Together, a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) and Quikr, an Indian oline marketplace, to strengthen job access and career mentoring through the National Career Service (NCS) portal.
- The signing ceremony took place at an event held in New Delhi, Delhi in the presence of Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, MoL&E and and Union Minister of State (MoS) Shobha Karandlaje, MoL&E.

Key Details of MoUs:
Objective: The collaborations aim to strengthen the employment ecosystem by providing job access and personalized career mentoring to youth, especially from rural and underserved regions.
Mentor Together:
- Target: Reach 2 lakh youth in the first year (1 lakh NCS job seekers + 1 lakh Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) entrants).
- Support: Personalised mentoring from 24,000+ trained professionals.
- Outreach: City- and district-level focus, especially for underserved youth.
Quikr (Renewed MoU):
- Integration: Over 1,200 daily job listings from Quikr Jobs will be added to the NCS portal.
- Coverage: Job listings span over 1,200 cities.
About National Career Service (NCS) Portal:
Portal: The NCS Portal, launched on 20 July 2015 by MoL&E as a Mission Mode Project, is India’s flagship digital employment platform providing career counselling, skill guidance, apprenticeships, and internship opportunities.
Statistics: Since its inception, the portal has registered over 52 lakh employers and 5.79 crore job seekers, and has mobilised more than 7.22 crore vacancies. With over 44 lakh active vacancies in 2025.

India’s Unemployment Rate: According to the World Economic Forum(WEF’s) Future of Jobs Report 2025, India’s unemployment rate is at 2%, the lowest among G20 nations, driven by rapid economic growth, employment-focused government schemes such as
PM-VBRY Scheme: Launched on August 1, 2025, the PM-VBRY is a flagship employment initiative by the Government of India(GoI).
- With an allocation of Rs.99,446 crore, the scheme aims to create over 3.5 crore formal jobs over two years, from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2027.
Other Schemes: Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) and Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) promote entrepreneurship and self-employment.
