About Jana SFB:

i.Jana Small Finance Bank (erstwhile Janalakshmi Financial Services Limited) is a scheduled commercial bank and the 4th largest Small Finance Bank (SFB) in India.

ii.It commenced operations as a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) in March 2008 and was later classified as an NBFC-Micro Finance Institution (NBFC-MFI).

iii.It commenced banking operations in March 2018 and has diversified its portfolio with a presence in 24 states/Union Territories (UTs) across India.

J&K Bank Received Award for “Best Performance on Profitability” at 2nd ICC Emerging Asia Banking Conclave & Awards 2024

Jammu & Kashmir Bank Limited (J&K Bank), a Scheduled Commercial Bank (SCB) and one of the oldest private sector Bank in India, has secured the “Best Performance on Profitability” award in the category of Private Sector Bank (Mid-Size) at the 2nd ICC Emerging Asia Banking Conclave & Awards 2024.

Key Points:

i.The award highlights the Bank’s exceptional profitability among mid-sized private sector banks in India. General Manager Rajesh Gupta received the award on behalf of the Bank.

ii.J&K Bank recorded its highest-ever net profit of Rs 1767 crore for the financial year 2024, thereby registering the record profit consecutively for the 2nd year.

iii.Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir)-headquartered J&K Bank was incorporated in 1938.

About ICC Emerging Asia Banking Conclave & Awards 2024.

i.The 2024 conclave brought together regulators, banking professionals, etc. from across the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) region.
