Government of India has appointed A.K. Mittal as Chairman of Railway Board. He will succeed incumbent chief Arunendra Kumar whose term had ended on 31st December 2014.
His name was cleared by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by Prime Minister. Besides railways made appointments of eight General Managers (GMs) vacant for a year.
While AK Puthia is the new GM of Northern Railway, Rajiv Mishra has become GM of Northeast Railway and Mahesh Mangal is the GM of Centre of Railway Electrification.
A Singhal has been appointed GM of Northwest zone, AK Mittal is the new GM of East Central railway.
