    The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), a premier Telecom Research and Development (R&D) centre under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology(IIT)-Roorkee, Uttarakhand and IIT Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, for developing ‘Cell-Free’ 6G (6th Generation of wireless technology) Access Points (APs).
     The agreement is signed under the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) scheme of the DoT.
     Traditional networks use cellular topologies, where each cell is serviced by a single base station like 4G/5G to service mobile customers.
     TTDF scheme was launched by the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF), a body under the DoT in October 2022.

     t is propelled by four gas turbines and can achieve speeds of 28 knots with a displacement of around 3200 tons with advanced state-of-the-art weapons and sensors.
     The Frigate is built with indigenous low-carbon micro-alloy grade steel.
