It was launched during a programme when the Union Minister was reviewing the progress of the cleaning projects under the Namami Ganga Mission in New Delhi, Delhi.
    · It is developed by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) works under the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, as part of the Aviral Ganga component.
    · This marks a major milestone towards ensuring the continuous and sustainable flow of the Ganga River.
    · It is an important part of the Platform for Real-time Analysis of Yamuna, Ganga and their tributaries (PRAYAG) portal which is a real-time monitoring centre for the planning and monitoring of projects, quality of river water, among others.

    On 14th June 2024, The World Health Organisation (WHO) released its annual report titled “2023 Antibacterial agents in clinical and preclinical development: an overview and analysis”. The report evaluates the pipeline of antibacterial agents, including antibiotics, in clinical and preclinical development across the world.
    i.According to the report, 84% of antibacterial Research and Development (R&D) is mainly concentrated in high-income countries, with another 12% in upper –middle income countries including, China, Russia and South Africa which contributed 7%, 3% and 2% of agents respectively.
    ii.While, Lower-Middle Income Countries (LMICs) including India, contributed 4% of the total share of anti-bacterial agents in clinical development by location of research facilities. India contributed only 1% to the global antibacterial R&D.
    iii.As per the report, the number of antibacterial agents in the clinical pipeline, including antibiotics, increased from 80 (in 2021) to 97 (in 2023) worldwide.

    · The MoU will come into effect after the successful integration of SBIePay, the payment gateway of SBI with the eMigrate portal.
    · Under this MoU, users will be able to make transactions through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), credit or debit cards, and National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) via net banking of all Indian banks. All such transactions are exempted from transaction charges.
    · The eMigrate Project, launched in 2014, was designed to guide and support the Indian workers heading to Emigration Check Required (ECR)countries for employment.
