The General Council of Sangeet Natak Akademi, the National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama, New Delhi, Delhi, unanimously elected 6 eminent personalities in the field of performing arts as of Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship (Akademi Ratna Sadasyata).
- The General Council selected 92 artists from the field of Music, Dance, Theatre, Traditional/Folk/Tribal Music/Dance/ Theatre, Puppetry and Overall contribution/scholarship in the Performing Arts for the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards (Akademi Puraskar) for the years 2022 and 2023.
- The council announced the winners of Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for the years 2022 and 2023.
Note:
The Akademi Fellowships and Awards will be conferred by the President of India(Current President – Droupadi Murmu) in a special investiture ceremony while the Sangeet Natak Akademi Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar will be conferred by Chairman of Sangeet Natak Akademi (Current Chairman- Dr. Sandhya Purecha) in a special ceremony.

A total of 80 Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar were presented for the year 2022 and 2023 combined. The awards were presented to 41 individuals for both 2022 and 2023.

2022- Lata Tiwari & Sanjay Datt Pandey, field of Folk Music & Dance.
2023 – Puneet Dimari & Amit Khanduri, field of Theatre – Ramleela).
About Akademi Ratna:
i.It is the highest honour conferred by Sangeet Natak Akademi without distinction of nationality, race, caste, religion, creed, or sex. The first Fellow of the Akademi was elected in 1954.
ii.It is restricted to 40 at any given time.
iii.Prize Money- Rs 3 Lakh
About Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards:
The awards recognises eminent practitioners, gurus and scholars of music, dance and theatre for sustained individual achievement of high professional order.
The award includes a Prize Money- Rs 1 Lakh besides a Tamrapatra and Angavastram.
About Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar:
Sangeet Natak Akademi established the ‘Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar’ in 2006 to honor talented artists under 40 years old in music, dance, and drama.
- Prize Money- Rs 25,000 besides a Tamrapatra and Angavastram.
