After a long period of 13 years, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has formally ended its war in Afghanistan. Now the under-trained Afghan national security force is going to fight the deadly Taliban insurgency largely on its own.
A special ceremony was organized at the Kabul headquarters to mark the conclusion of operations by the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) leaded  by the United States.
From 1st January 2015, the ISAF combat mission will be replaced by a NATO Training and Support mission, which consists of 13000 troops. These troops will stay in Afghanistan and assist the Afghan army and police forces in their battle against the Taliban. These troops will not directly involve in any combat mission.
