On 25th April 2023, during a programme organised on the 53rd Foundation Day of Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO), the HUDCO Awards of 2022-2023 were announced in New Delhi, Delhi.
UP Receives HUDCO Award for Sanitation:
i.The Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) Uttar Pradesh has been awarded the HUDCO Award (2022-2023) for Best Practices to Improve the Living Environment 2022-23 category for Sanitation.
- The award was presented by Manoj Joshi, secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, to Neha Sharma, State Mission Director, Uttar Pradesh.
- As part of the award, an amount of Rs 1 lakh was also given to the UP government.
ii.The award was given for the campaign practice ‘Swatchh Virasat’. The campaign was conducted by the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) Uttar Pradesh from January 14 to 24.
iii.75 tourist and historical places of the state were included under the campaign and Special cleanliness drives were conducted at those places.
iv.Through activities like Nukkad Natak, puppet show, plog run inside the site, the general public was involved in cleaning ghats, ponds, markets and other commercial areas.
v.The 10 day campaign was concluded on 24 January 2023, the foundation day of UP.

-J&K Bank felicitated for ‘outstanding’ contribution under PM Awas Yojana
i.On April 25, 2023, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Bank was conferred with the award from the HUDCO for its outstanding contribution towards the housing sector of the country under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) – Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) through various innovative initiatives.
ii.Narjay Gupta, General manager, J&K Bank, received the award from Manoj Joshi, secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, and Kuldip Narayan, HUDCO chairperson.
iii.The award function was inaugurated by Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs and Petroleum & Natural Gas.
